DVC Day!! The van is picking us up in front of FQ at 9:40am. The tour should take 90 minutes and just for taking the tour, they are giving us 2 VIP fast passes. They have about 2 FPs each to use in a 48 hour period. I vote for MS and TOT. I want to be in Epcot for the end of the day since they are open late (EMH night) and weve never seen IllumiNations either! So, we should go to MGM first for TOT and then to Epcot for the rest of the day. The van will bring us wherever we want to go to after the tour as well.
We were out front about 9:30am after having some scrambled eggs in the FC. Linda from the DVC was right on time picking us up. The drive took about 5 minutes. On the way, we passed the sign for Bonnet Creek Resort. I remember someone on the Dis asking about this so I asked our tour guy (Chris M.) about it and it turns out that this is a hotel chain not owned by Disney that owns this piece of property. The way it is positioned on the land, Disney never bought it or the owners wouldn't sell it. Not too sure. There are more details, but I cant remember them all, but; bottom line, its not Disney owned. Wish I had more info that was more detailed. Maybe someone here will find out more and post it. Ok, on to the tour with Chris. Great guy by the way, very informative, funny and friendly. Hes a Senior DVC guide and has been doing this for about 9 years I think he said. We did the dreaded $$ and details part first, then the tour part second. The $$ is very good right now, they are offering two types of deals with $800 off the purchase price and double points if I purchased now. I was going to purchase 160 points so they would give me double that for the first year that I can use during 2005 as well. After that, its just my original 160 pts per year. The points are selling for $95/pt. The other deal was a flat $1500 off the purchase price, but I wanted the double points!! I could invite my sister to SSR, which is really deluxe; and convert her whole family to the Disney side. Lolol =) A little Star Tours humor. So, as you can already guess, I bought DVC!!! I should have done it 6 years ago when I first started coming here. But, unfortunately, you dont know that the first year. But I should have figured it out by the 3rd year. Just a goof ball I guess. So if all goes well credit wise, I should be a DVC member. Due to the deposit they wanted that day, which I couldnt do since I wasnt financially prepared for it; I asked Chris to wait until the Friday after I left to debit my checking account for the deposit. So that means I have to finish the paperwork by mail, but I still get the deal. We are hopeful that it will all work out credit wise. He did say that DVC tries their best to get their members enrolled, no matter what. Maybe you all could help by throwing a little Pixie Dust my way??? If all goes well, our month will be April. I dont know why its not May since we signed up in May?? We did the tour and DS took pictures for me. Wow, what a beautiful place!! We saw the studio, 1 BR, 2BR and the Grand Villa. Which is indeed Grand. All the pics are on Debs site already from her tour, mine are pretty much the same pictures. After the tour, we had some ice cream in the Parlor and the van took us back to FQ. I had to put away my DVC Goodie Bag. I didnt want to carry it around. After that we went to MGM to ride TOT. Now those VIP passes are awesome! They print out the FP for right now! This second. No coming back later. And, you can get your 2nd FP in 5 minutes from this FP, which is also good right now. You could ride 2 rides right now (within the hour on the FP). We rode TOT twice, back to back. Loads of fun!! I wasnt scared this time, since I already rode it the other day. Then we did Star Tours and I bought some Star Tours stuff, pin and new coin. We saw a ton of characters, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Wookie and a bunch of characters I dont even know! It was pretty cool, very crowded too. But that was ok by me! DS was getting irritated after a while so we took the bus over to Epcot. We need food now! We went to The Land. I got a Taco Chicken Baked Potato, which was surprisingly very good. DS got some Chicken Fingers, which he said were pretty good too. As we went outside thunderclouds were pretty scary and it was very windy. I was wondering if theyd have fireworks tonight. We decided to go to The Living Seas and check out Nemo & Friends. It was interesting. We saw some really strange Cuttlefish acting really strange. Some kinda of weird mating ritual, we think. After Seas, we went back to the World Showcase. Checked out the new China movie, Faces of China OMG, what an amazing movie!! If you havent see it, next time; see it!!! We both loved it. Since that one was such a hit, we decided to try the Canadian one, O Canada, also very good. Not as good as Faces, but still watchable. We stopped at Yakitori house and I got the Chicken Teri & Rice Childrens Meal for $3.99 and split it with DS for a snack. He likes it, hey Mikey! I was amazed. Hes always telling me no to Chinese food of any kind. This will now be a regular stop for us. Good thing for me since I like it so much. I showed him the Teppanyaki Steak House and well try that on our next trip as well. We shared a pastry in France sometime during the day as well as a Beavertail in Canada. Well, I didnt have any of the Beavertail this time, just him. While we were in Canada, DS decided to do the Kidcot Mask. He was feeling silly and wanted to play. While he was doing that, I did some shopping and found an awesome handmade ceramic elephant for my other sister Kathy for her birthday at the end of this month. She loves elephants. The funny thing is, while I was talking to the CM and purchasing it, she called it Nellie. I thought she was talking to me, as that is a nickname and screen name for me as well. Its the elephants name!!! It is written on a card attached to it. It was pretty funny! I paid for it and had it shipped home FedEx. I dont like to carry breakables home on the plane or pack them. Too risky. After that we watched Illuminations, WOW thats pretty! Went to Norway, found a bracelet I wanted, but they didnt have the price or the SKU # and this was the last one, so the manager, Clyde; gave me his business card and asked me to call him tomorrow after 2:30 to find out if he can get a price and sell me the bracelet. Its beautiful and I want it badly. I hope its not over $150??! If its less Ill get it. I left him my resort and room # so he could leave me a voice mail tomorrow while I am out in the park. This was EMH night so we rode all the open rides. What fun and so much less crowded than MK. DS didnt want to ride MS with me and the Test Track line was 60 minutes! They should open more attractions in the park if they are going to be open late. They even closed MouseGears at 9:15pm!!! Thats no fun!!! Not much was open I discovered after checking out Spaceship Earth, so we headed to the buses. Our driver this night to FQ was Matt and he was too funny!!! Hilarious! What a great end to a great day!
