Trying to decide between resorts....could someone please compare the food courts at POR and POFQ for me? size, offerings, decor? I have 3 DD's. Thanks!

The main thing I preferred at POFQ was that most things were cooked fresh to order. It POR I found that things like fries and nuggets had been sitting under a heat lamp so did not taste as fresh.

POR foodcourt seating area is a lot bigger, but we never had problems finding a seat at POFQ.

I second POFQ!!! Great atmosphere, great food options, no problem getting a table, and I agree about the heat lamp things. IMHO POFQ has the best food court of all moderates! If you choose PO just remember FQ is just a boat ride away!

Riverside is bigger than Frenchquarter.

I prefer Riverside's food - they do have fresh items and not just nuggets/fries. They have a create your own salad or create your own pasta. As well as fresh sandwiches. The beignets are only at French Quarter.

As for decor, French Quarter has in my opinion scary madrisgra stuff, like giant clown type heads. Outside it's fine and really cute for the theme, but the foodcourt is creepy. Riverside has the huge water wheel and a more rustic/bayou feel.

When we were there back in July/August 2009, we ate at both. My kids liked both food courts. I was looking for something different at POFQ, it is different meals compared to POR. They are both good.

We like POFQ's food court best: ribs or ribs and chicken combo or pot roast (all with sides, including cornbread) during dinner hours are all really good. Love the muffelettas and beignets, too. Yes, POR's food court is much larger but there are also many more guests staying there because the resort is so much larger than POFQ. And, both resorts are either a boat ride or a short walk apart if you care to eat at both resorts.

I think that they both have their postives and perhaps negatives, but it really will come down to your personal taste, as they are both good. Look at the menus on the allears website. They are so close to each other, you could use both for meals.

I personally would not pick the resort of choice on the food court alone, the resorts themselves are both wonderful but different.

We love POFQ's food court, but like POR a little better, but my kids are a little older and like the create your own pasta and salads and carving meals.

Don't forget you are so close to DTD, use that to enjoy their restaurants as well!
Enjoy! :)

Just came back from POR and the food court was gross. We stayed at POFQ a few years ago and I remember really liking the food.
