We are headed to WDW in September (yay free dining!!). There is going to be a total of 8 of us. DH, DD19, DS16, DD13, DD6, DF, DM & me, we are taking my parents down for their first visit. Right now we are booked 2 rooms at POR...which is a great resort. We have taken our kids there in 2011 & 2012 and just loved it. But now I'm a little tossed up...I kind of want to start checking out other resorts...and thought about switched to CBR? The only downfall I see right now is I hear they only have double beds. My DS16 is 6' 5" - 250 lbs, and my father is 6' 3" - 240 lbs...neither have "fit" comfortably in a double bed for quite some time (the will not be sharing a bed...just wanted to clarify). Do I stick with the same old, same old and keep my res at POR and get the queen size beds? Or move to CBR and risk possibly have 2 people sleeping uncomfortably? BTW, my husband doesn't like change, and thinks that POR is great...he thinks because we found something we like, we shouldn't risk moving. :confused3

We have stayed at both. I like POR better but in your case I would try out CBR. It's something new. The rooms in CBR are larger. My only concern would be your son and husband..... with their height comfort would be an important. If they are not comfortable at CBR it may be your fault. SO I read this back, I have no good answer lol.

DD20 and I stayed at POFQ 3 years ago and took a walk to POR. How we wished we had stayed there!!! The following year we stayed at POR and absolutely loved everything about it! :yay:

Last year we decided to try CBR since we had never been there. We paid for a preferred room so we had a great location. The first night we walked around the grounds and both of us tried to like it with neither of us voicing our opinion to the other because we wanted to give it a chance. The following morning we had breakfast then headed to the nearest bus stop. While waiting for the bus, one of us said something about it not being as great as we thought it would be and before you knew it we were on our way to the reservation desk asking if we could be switched to POR. We were SOOOO happy once we were back at POR. I know CBR has its following but we are not among them. We were so happy to leave there. :wave2:

Thank you both...I think we'll stay put at POR...its hard trying to please everyone but both your opinions made perfect sense!

Go with the queen sized beds. I'm a 5'9 and 120lbs and I don't enjoy sharing a double bed with another person. Both of those gentlemen are twice my size, and there won't be enough beds to them to have their own (unless you have an air mattress for each room) so I expect the people sleeping with them will likely be uncomfortable too.

I'm all about trying new places, but this is a basic issue of comfort. When we stayed at CBR, we got a king sized bed to get around the double situation. That's not really an option in your situation.

We've only stayed at CBR and it's a beautiful resort, but POR looks like a beautiful resort as well. With that said, I think for your situation, I'd stay put at POR with the queen beds. It sounds like your son and father would be very uncomfortable in double beds and since your DH doesn't like change, it might be best to stick with what you know/like. Good luck.
