Any have pics of their "standard" view at POR? I booked mine and am quite nervous as to what my view "might" be of!

Thanks!!

Standard should be a parking lot view. HOWEVER, I will say that each time we stayed there (it is such a lush and beautifully landscaped resort) with a standard view, our attention was not drawn to the vehicles....but rather to the lush foliage EVERYWHERE. I would not worry. Gorgeous resort!

I'm not really worried about looking at a parking lot - I was just curious as to what they looked like. I've never been so I'm in awe about everything. I just didn't want to overlook a service area/receiving dock or anything like that.....because if I want that view, I'll go hang out at a hotel or mall here.....

We went last year over Easter Vacation and our standard view was overlooking the gardens in the middle of the resorts. When I opened my door, I was looking at the Mansion. I was on the first floor. Both me and my dh said, what a great room we had for a standard. The doors are on an angle. I don't think there is a bad view at all at POR. So don't be scared with what you get.

A standard view does not necessarily mean parking lot view!! A standherd view typically means you won't be in one of the closer buildings or won't have a water view. A lot of the buildings are not even near the parking lot.

We had standard in Sept in AB & we were looking out onto the groomed forest that is in between the buildings in this section.

Our standard view was of lush garden as well. I don't think I saw any loading docks or service areas around, so I wouldn't worry. It's a great resort, we loved it!

I've had a standard view twice and both times we overllooked a nice garden, I'm hoping for another nice view on thursday:cool1:

There are several buildings at POR that have no parking lot view, so we requested one of them, Bldg. 27 in Alligator Bayou. It was beautiful! Our standard view room overlooked a lushly landscaped courtyard, and our building was located midway between the foodcourt and main pool, with the first bus stop right around back. Perfect!

I've stayed at POR, CSR and CBR and have never paid for an upgraded view. I don't think it's worth it, IMO. The landscaping and foliage is so nice that even a room on the parking lot sides have nice scenery. Pictures don't do it justice at all. Don't think of it like getting a parking lot room at Motel 6.

We booked a POR standard view in June (AB section) and got a corner room with a water view in building 14 -- bonus!:cool1:

I agree - I'm not sure there is a truly BAD view in POR, as lush as the grounds are.

We just returned from bldg 25. Beautiful lush green trees, close to pkg lot and 5 min great walk to food court along river.

We stayed at POR twice. The first time, we had a lovely view of landscaping. I don't have any photos of that. The second time, this was our view:

Honestly though, it was no big deal. It's not like we were in the room looking out the window frequently, and our room was nice and quiet.

I've stayed at POR three times now...once in blg 35 (I think that was it) and I paid for a water view and had a room overlooking a quiet pool. Then, I stayed in the mansions and again, paid for a waterview (I'm a slow learner) and you had to leave your room and lean over the railing to see the river. So...when I went the last time, I chose a standard room. Got bldg 14, looking out at the back of the food court building. It was wonderful. Because you aren't out on a balcony, it really doesn't matter much what you are looking at. Especially if you want any privacy at all...you'll want to keep the drapes closed due to the foot traffic going past your room.

We have stayed at POR 4 times and we will be there in 20 days for our fifth stay. WE CAN'T WAIT!!!! We stay in the mansions with a standard view. We have always had a beautiful garden view. I am sorry I don't have any pictures though.

Our standard view was a view of the courtyard, which had a beautiful fountain. We were very pleased with it.

I just returned from a stay in a standard view room. I never paid too much attention to the view since I was always trying to keep up with two kids, but I know that it was of a courtyard. We also had easy access to the bus stop too.
