Hey!
I see a TON of pictures around the POR Riverside and it looks very relaxing and beautiful landscaping, etc. Peaceful. However, my question is, HOW ARE THE ACTUAL ROOMS THEMSELVES? Are they clean and well kept? How was mousekeeping during your stay? PLEASE, give me some feedback and pictures of the OUTSIDE and ROOMS INSIDE would be GREAT-*RECENT* pics-THANKS!:flower3:

We just got back from POR. Don't have any pictures uploaded yet though. We stayed in building 35 in alligator bayou. We had a fabulous time!!

Our room was clean. However, I thought a couple of the pillows smelled a little like sunscreen. I don't doubt they were washed...I just think that the sunscreen smell is hard to get out of fabric. So we had them bring us some new pillows...which they brought away and all was fine.

Our shower curtain had a bit of mold on it...but I wasn't particularly bothered by that since I don't really touch the curtain (especially at the top where the mold was.) I'm sure it would bother some people, but not me.

We didn't have the housekeepers come in our room at all during our stay. They did leave a bag full of goodies (clean towels, new soaps, new coffee, new cups, etc.) on the outside of our door a couple days of our trip so that was nice.

Our bed was comfortable and the pillows were okay but not great (I'm picky about my pillow.)

We only heard the people next store a couple times so that was good. I hate being able to hear my neighbors.

Overall, I thought it was a fantastic hotel. The grounds and landscaping were fabulous! I would definitely go back to this resort again in the future.

We stayed in building 38 of the AB section...room 3837. Our room was not on the bottom floor and even with children it really wasn't too bad to walk up and down.

We never heard a peep from our neighbors and actually we hardly ever ran into any families in our building the whole week. :) I think we saw more of the lawn care workers and maids.

Our mousekeepers did a great job of keeping our room stocked but I don't think they cleaned a whole lot around our table and chairs. I often found crumbs etc that my children had left. I made sure to leave our dirty towels (and once needed a new sheet due to the baby) in a pile on our bathroom floor and they changed them out each day. I am quite OCD about the bathrooms being clean and the first day we moved in I felt the bathroom floor was a bit dusty/dirty and could have been swept. We received bathroom towel "animals" but never in our room. One day we were heading out to the parks and ran into a few mousekeepers and we exchanged "Hello". We came back from our room and found this attached to our door handle:

I didn't realize until we were leaving that I didn't get any pictures of our room. We just got back today from POR. We were in Oak Manor #9215, and the room was really clean (carpets, bedding, walls). If you look at a resort map, it is on the parking lot side (on the back) on the end of the wing closest to the East Depot bus stop. For that reason, it was a great location. we were a very short walk to the bus. To the main bldg with the food court, it was a decent hike (a good 10 minutes), but really not that bad. For all of the rooms, at times it felt like we were the only ones there. We never heard anyone (we had a corner room), and it was so quiet!

I do not have any pics yet...three more weeks to go!!! Just wanted to make sure you were aware that there are two different sections to POR: Alligator Bayou and the Mansions. The two sections have two completely different feels. The AB appears to be more rustic and the Mansions appear to be "fancy," as my DSs would put it. There are some great pics here on wdwinfo.com, on allearsnet.com, and on tripadvisor.com. Happy searching!

SeaSpray, I love the pictures! We stayed back in 12/05 and things have not changed a bit. We really loved POR and I would not hesitate to go back either.
