What theme park area is POR located in? We have only stayed at AS before and I know that is in AK area. Help- I am trying to plan where in the "world" we should eat lunch at when we won't be arriving until about 1 pm for check-in. Suggestions?

POR is classified as a Downtown Disney resort. Same with French Quarter. Key West is a DVC property in the Downtown Disney area.

As for parks, AK is definitely the farthest. Epcot is just around the corner - probably 5 minutes. Magic Kingdom is about 10 minutes away. MGM is about 7 minutes away.

Would you suggest going to DTD or Epcot restaurant for a get-in-the-WDW-mode? We will be arriving at the resort around 1 pm and we will all be starving!

Epcot absolutely! There are so many great choices there and there's nothing like seeing Spaceship Earth to send chills down your spine! You can have almost any kind of food you like and even grab a pastry from Norway or France. Yum! Save Downtown Disney for an evening. The boat starts about 4:30 PM. Ride the boat to DD and enjoy dinner there. Our favorite is the House of Blues or Planet Hollywood, but there are so many other choices from Bongos to the Rainforest Cafe to Fulton's Crab House... Have fun! :)

Epcot
:D
But if you are all starved, just take it easy and eat at the resort and then head to a park. That way you aren't drained, tired and grumpy by the time you do eat.
Depending on where you eat and what time, without a PS, you may have to wait anyway. (Unless you eat counter service style.)
