So which on is smaller? Which on looks a mansion? Which one offers carriage ride? Because I want to stay at the smaller one, I want to stay at the one that looks like a mansion and I want to go on a carriage ride - Thanks everyone:confused3

-PORFQ is the small one

-POR has the ones that look like mansions

-The carriage rides are at POR. Not sure if PORFQ has them as well but it's easy enough to walk over to POR.

So looks like you'll be doing a split stay?

POFQ is much smaller but very nice. POR has the mansions but they also have more rustic rooms in Alligator Bayou. Both places are awesome.

You can take the boat to POR from POFQ and grab a carriage ride from there. POFQ is a much smaller resort, and much easier to get around.

POR is my fav. We love the mansion section. Either magnolis Terrace or Acadian House near the bridge over to Old Man Island are great locations. Because its a larger resort it has more amenities. A better pool, and quiet pools, more selection in the food court and has the carriage rides too.

If you choose POR because of the mansions, be mindful that only two mansion buildings (Acadian House & Magnolia Terrace) have regular rooms now. The other two mansion buildings (Parterre Place & Oak Manor) are entirely full of Royal Rooms. If you do not want a Royal Room, you would have to request a mansion and it wouldn't be guaranteed. Only way to guarantee a mansion is by booking a Royal Room.

I prefer POR over POFQ. Even though POFQ is considerably smaller, I find it to feel more crowded - especially the food court and bus stop. If you are going at a slower time of year, the size of POR will make it feel much more empty which I prefer.

If you are still torn let me put it this way...2009 POR and 2011 POFQ. Would stay at either again, you won't be likely to regret either decision; both are beautiful and have their own benefits and you can walk or boat ride between them which leaves either a great choice. Prioritize your wants and go from there.

I don't understand.

Oh thank you I didn't know that, I guess I will request a royal room, I am sure DS will think it is cool anyways.

Thanks eveyone, lots of good info that I didnt know. I want the carriage ride, and the mansion area, so I think I will go with POR, is it smaller then CBR and CS? Those two look so spread out, again thanks

POR is comparable in size to CBR and CSR. We prefer CBR and CSR to POR by a mile, and POFQ is probably in our top 5 WDW resorts. We stayed at POR during a free dining period in September 2011, and the POR bus stops at the parks were frequently so crowded at the end of the night that we took the bus to POFQ and walked back from there, because by comparison that line was empty. Last thing we felt like doing at the end of a long day, but we would rather be moving toward our goal (bed), than standing in a long hot line for a bus for over an hour waiting on a bus.

PP posted the port orleans website - there's a lot of great information on there. Since they are sister resorts, amenities are shared. I would pick the resort that appeals to you most and stick with that!

You can't request a royal room, you have to book a royal room and its an upcharge from a standard room. Not sure how much more it is, but its along the lines of if you were to book river view or preferred. If you are not willing to pay the upcharge or plan to book a different category (like river view or water view), then you'll just have to request a mansion and they will put you in Acadian House or Magnolia Terrace if available.

I don't understand.

I think the poster you quoted was just saying they stayed at POR in 2009 and POFQ in 2011...
