Decisions, decisions...

We're booked at POR for next March, but...

I've read good things about the Dolphin and Swan. My hubby would get a gov't discount (if they offer it then), so the price would be about the same.

Which would you pick and why?

Thanks!
Kim

There is no comparison, If your getting a rate you think is good for the S/D TAKE IT!!!! They are FANTASTIC. POR is ok, but in no way compares to the atmosphere at the S/D GO FOR IT::yes::

I've stayed at POR 4 times and loved it but...go for the Swan/Dolphin. Everything that I have heard about those hotels is fantastic. Being so close to EPCOT and MGM would be such a bonus! My next trip will be to the Swan or Dolphin. Have fun!

You're getting a deluxe for the same price as a moderate- go with the Swan/Dolphin! You're going to love the location, the resort grounds, the choices for eating. You won't believe the bed you've been missing out on! No Mickey soaps, but I prefer the oatmeal soap for washing, then wander to the hotel window to look out upon Mickey's backyard!

Make those reservations, you'll be glad you did!

We also love getting the govt. discount at the Swan/Dolphin. The location is the best when you have kids and want to travel easily to the parks. You don't even need a rental car, it's so close to everything. Remember if they are booked for your time period, keep trying. Sometimes they block off tons of rooms for convention groups, and then release them when not as many people book as expected.

I'd pick the Swan & Dolphin for the location alone....I don't mind the buses, but the less time I have to spend on them is better :) I love the Boardwalk/Epcot area.

PO-R is fun, we've stayed there twice...but I'd pick the S/D!

I have stayed at both properties and there is no comparison. POR is close to Downtown Disney. S/D are smack dab in the middle of the theme parks. Choose the Swan. You'll be glad you did.

Ok, half the fun is in the planning. I'm now booked at both the POR and the Swan. If the gov't discounts don't come out, I can fall back on POR.

Now I'm waiting on the rates for the Universal resorts. Who knows when they'll come back. I get a different answer each time I call. Our plan is to go to Universal in the AM of the morning we get back from our Disney cruise. Ck in and use their front of the line room keys.

So much planning ( and money :) )

Thanks for the info!! Can't wait.

If you can get the Swan or the Dolphin for less then $200 a night inc taxes and fees and this is within your budget you should go for it. You cannot compare the location and services of these two resorts to a Disney moderate. Go with the Swan or Dolphin.

I had this dilemma for this past April... Chose the dolphin! I have one thing to say

We are headed back to spend Christmas 2005!

WE LOVED IT!

I would choose the Swan or Dolphin in a second. The transportation options are better, the room is better, food choices better . . . you name it - its better! We've stayed at the Dolphin twice and LOVE IT!!!!
