I heard that the Bayou rooms at Port Orleans Riverside were going to replace their trundle beds with pull down Murphy beds. I understand that the replacement beds will be longer than the child-size trundles. Does anyone know the new length and if it would fit an adult? Does anyone have a picture?
Thanks!::MinnieMo

They are pretty small. We had one that our 4 year old slept on. Our 10 year old just fit when he laid on it, but don't know if he could have slept on it all week.

They are the same size as the trundle, if not smaller. Definitely would not fit an adult and since it's not on the floor, I'd worry about the weight requirements of it as well. I read on a blog they are age 11 and under. Might be more comfy than the trundle but since it's not on the floor, it wouldn't be good for anyone much older/bigger than an 11 year old.

Wow never even knew they had this.

I have a question for those that have used them. Do they have any rails for them? We are going next year with my DS who will be 2.5? It would be great if they had rail, but if not I would be worried about him falling:confused3

You can check on the POR thread to see if someone has used them with the rails; I know they do provide them with the regular bed, so it is possible they could fit the new murphy bed.

They are provided by Mousekeeping.

My 13 year old son slept on it the entire 7 nights. He is about 5'8 but he does like to sleep curled up so i knew it wouldn't be a problem. Why are you worried about the tv over him???

I don't ever need the murphy bed because its just me and my fiance, but I could see where the kid on the murphy bed is kind of in the middle of the room so to speak. If you're trying to quietly watch tv after people fall asleep, it might be hard for the kid on the murphy bed. At least with the trundle, they were tucked on the side of the bed and out of the way.
