first i khow i was there for jeanne and cm's had their own familys and homes to think about BUT ...at check in 9/25about 1 pmonly about 5 people working at check in then the computer at our checkin station died.now had to wait for another cm to finish.#2 sunday call all day to see if food court will open because of storm,call from about 1pm to 6pm the cm keep saying the foodcourt was closed about 6.30pm i see another guest walk by with food from the food court. now very mad ,by the time i get to food court it's mobbed.cashier said they openedat 2pm.now i was being a good guest until disney said it was safe to come of your rooms.but i guess i shouldn't listen to the front desk.#3 again call front desk to make sure boat is running to dtd they said yes.now take my dw, 3dk 6,4,2 and to the boat only to be told that the boat can only go betwwen por and pofq. i don't think only one at this resort talks to anyone else .plusthe food court most times only had 2 cashiers and the resort had alot of campers from the fort so always crowds. but on the brite side a bad day at disney is betterthen a good day of work.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubling time, however I think this was not as much the fault of the CM's as it was the fault of Jeanne. While it might have been stated from the docks that the boats would be running to DtD, the ship captains may have had to make a judgement call based on water levels and currents that would not allow them to be on the water that long or there might have been some down trees in the water. As for the food courts I heard they were pretty much open as often as they could be trying to handle the huge need, and even CM's from the pools and front desk were filling in to help food court workers. It is a shame though that your vacation was stressful, but I would def give POR another chance. We used to stay there when it was DL and only stopped staying there once we got DVC.

Sorry you had so many problems....I LOVE POR and I really think they were so misinformed due to the hurricanes. I was there during Hurrican Floyd and we had some similar problems but they made up for it by giving all food 50% off and they reimbursed us later w/ 4 1day hopper passes and a voucher for a free night. Please give this resort another chance as it is the best in my opinion!!!

It is certainly your right to never stay at POR again.

But in all fairness I don't think you would have seen much difference at any resort in central Florida during a major natural disaster.

Or New England during a blizzard, or New Orleans during a flood, or California during an earthquake...

The hurricanes were a stressful, confusing, trying time for everyone.

::yes:: I agree.

POR is my favorite onsite hotel. I think all of the problems you had with it stemmed from the hurricane.

If you went during hunnicane Jeanne, then you are luck to get what you got. I doubt you would have gotten as good or better at any other resort. If I was a CM I think I would have been at home with my family...smjj

We went on the 9/30 Disney Wonder. Our server was one of the CM's from the Wonder who had to stay at WDW until Jeanne passed. He was at the one of the All Star resorts. He was given food vouchers, but the food court was closed. Poor guy, all he was able to get to eat was an apple and some packs of crackers, until Jeanne was over.
