POR Mansions: What's your favorite?

Having never stayed at POR, and looking for a great upstairs location for a special occassion, which mansion would you choose? We would like to be close to a bus stop as we're up and out early until park close. I also plan to ask a special question having to do with a ring for my girlfriend. Would a carriage ride at the resort be a good place to do it? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and happy holidays to you all.

The mansions are just lovely. I have an old map and 85( this is from when it was still DL) may be just the one. In it's courtyard is a gazebo(sp) and has a bus stop right in front. Plus the gazebo over looks the water, and the bridge is not that far away for the foodcourt.

We loved Magnolia Terrace. It was right by a bus stop and a short walk to the food court and the main pool. It also shares a lovely, large quiet pool with the next mansion.

Can you suggest any specific rooms to request at Magnolia Terrace? Does anyone have the fax number for room requests? I know I saw if here before but can't find it!

I don't know specific room numbers, but I try to be as specific as I can about the location, like building name or number & what floor with what view. POR has always been great about meeting requests for us.

I think Magnolia Terrace is the most romantic mansion with the honeysuckle vines & fragrance, gazebo, & river views. Also, the bus stop is right out in front of it. I'd ask for a corner room so you get 2 windows - the curtains are lovely & add to the room decor & the extra light really brightens the room. Early congrats on your "ring plans"

Thanks to you all for the info on room requests for POR. I'm new posting to the boards, although I have utilized all your wonderful advice for the past two WDW trips. The information should help make this trip even more special than the previous ones! I have called and had CM place the requests on the reservation.
