For our November trip, we are going to stay in a moderate resort one night before checking into a DVC villa. I'm interested in folks' opinions on the two POR resorts. What do you like, what don't you like? Which would be better for this very short stay? Thanks!!

I have stayed at both and I have to recommend POFQ. Especially since your stay is so short the small resort will be very benificial to you.....no long walks to your room with luggage. It is beautiful after the rehab and a joy to stay in. We had very good experience in the food court and found all of the staff to be great. :wave2:

I have to say that I suggest POFQ (yes..it's the only moderate I've stayed at..but I have visited others and this one is my favorite) Ask for a room closest to the main building so you won't be bothered walking. Enjoy it while you are there. It is a BEAUTIFUL resort!!!

If it's not too late to chime in, POFQ is our favorite moderate too! It's quaint and so much more compact than the other resorts. We love the rooms, grounds, pool and food court. :flower:

I know you made your decision on POFQ but here's my vote for this resort as well...even though this is the only WDW resort we've ever stayed at. Here's my reasons why:
1)It's a small resort. This makes it very easy to walk to any part of the resort.
2)For Disney's transportation, we've discovered that the buses will typically stop at POFQ first before POR 90% of the time. With our 2 tired kids from visting the parks all day, this helped out a lot!
3)I recommend Building #5. It's right across from the pool and adjacent to the food court.

You will love POFQ. The resort was closed most of 2003 and it went through a complete renovation (opening once again in May 2004). We stayed in building #4 last August. Since then I have tried twice this year to get the PIN or AAA rate for my beginning weekends to no avail (got POP and POR). Everything was close and compact - short walk to the food court, and to the pool.

While we did not stay at POR last summer, we did take a drive around POR to check it out. POR is much, much bigger. The size reminded me of CBR (another nice resort, but very, very big).

We are doing the same thing in October- one night in a moderate before checking into DVC. I chose POFQ simply because it's smaller than Riverside and I figured it would be easier to get around and explore a smaller resort in such a short period of time. I've heard good and bad about ALL of the mods and in the end you just have to pick the one that you are drawn to the most. After all, it's only for one night.

I agree with this 100%. We stayed there this year and it's a very nice, quiet resort and not crowded at all (at least, it doesn't appear crowded. When we were there, it was sold out 4 of the 5 nights but you wouldn't think so looking around.)

I agree with the diser that said request building 5. That is our fav building (we've been in building's 4, 5 and 1...1 is my least fav)
