Just booked POR standard room for 9/13/13 - 9/21/13. At the last minute changed from Pop to POR. Me, DD5, and my mother stayed in royal room for the weekend back in January and I fell in love with the resort. My DH will be going with us in January and I hope he loves resort as much as I do. My mother and father will also be going with us in September. We booked 2 rooms hopefully with connecting doors.

What is the best standard room location? It can be in either Magnolia Bend or Alligator Bayou? Looking for something close to the main building.

Thanks!!!

For in depth information on room types and locations, the map at the bottom of this page allows you to click on the building to see what rooms there are by catagory in each building.

We have booked standard rooms at POR twice, and requested Magnolia Bend both times. First time, we were in the Magnolia Terrace building and the second time we were in Acadian House. Their distance from everything is about equal since they are adjacent to each other. There is a quiet pool in the middle of the two, and the bridge to the main pool is between the two buildings. The food court is just on the other side of the main pool from there. Location was equal in both buildings, but I think Magnolia Terrace is a little nicer aesthetically.

I can't speak to how the locations of AB are, but the AB buildings closest to everything are all Preferred Rooms, so you'd likely be a little further out.

Thanks everyone.

I have looked at the port Orleans websites but was hoping for opinions from people that have stayed in standard rooms.

My favorite building is Acadian house..close to buses, close to pool bridge and quiet!

We had a standard royal room reserved. We ended up in a room in Oak Manor facing the courtyard. It was a great location.

We were in Acadian House the first time. I loved that location and it was actually pretty quiet.

I personally loved or Magnolia bend room. We were right around the corner from the elevators. Racing the courtyard. Soo close to bus stop very close to main pool n quiet pool. And literally a 6-7 minute walk to main bldg. Also it was closer to where they had the movies under the stars then the Acadian house..
