POR and CBR, DVC rooms in the future?

Will Disney convert rooms at POR and CBR into DVC at some point? With the cabins now, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

That doesn't seem too likely to me, since they sorta did that already with CBR to create Riviera. POR? Maybe.

I could possibly see those locations have some level of DVC…especially if they extend the Skyliner to other places.

They could, but CBR, given the Skyliner, is pretty popular as a moderate so I don't think they will need to add more rooms there....but if they did, it would probably be a phase two of RIV, which for me, works great because I love love love that resort!!!

Converting - is probably not a financially viable option, the rooms are 315 sq feet and they are cinderblock construction with no interior hallways some even had wall AC ( no ducts) CC is only 345 for the studio but has an awesome lobby and interior hallways. OKW has exterior hallways but 1,200 sq foot 1 BR.

Probably cheaper to tear down - other than GDT which could become DVC but it sells out with conventions.

I don't see that...unless they want to make an entirely new system...which doesn't make logical sense. They still need cash resorts for guests, especially at the value and moderate levels.

Maybe someday, but they still have several viable hotel sites around WDW that don’t require tearing anything down.

The redos they’ve done - CBR, Poly, WL, now VGF2, - have replaced rooms they were having trouble renting. The Moderates generally sell well, especially Port Orleans. So we’ll see.

They should convert the POR-Riverside mansions to DVC and leave the french Quarter as is.

The way it's going the Galtic Starcruser will be the next conversion

2. Not selling
3. Near HS
4. Skyliner could easily be extended to HS

I can see the far flung “bayou” buildings @ POR-R as a small DVC…only if a low point allotment
