Thanks for the pics! We just changed our reservation to POR for this Sept.'s trip. Were all of the rooms in Alligator Bayou within reasonable walking distance to the food court? We decided not to stay at CSR due to the huge walking distances from some of the rooms to the food court and main pool. I'm starting to worry that POR is almost as big!

Thank you so much :thumbsup2 it looks so peaceful !!

Glad we picked POR :woohoo:

Some of the rooms at POR a bit of a walk but not like at CSR. I was in building 6b at CSR and it was a fairly long walk over to the main building. I personally don't mind the walk and enjoy strolling through the resort. But we ended up in building 14 which was the first building next to the main area, food court and check in and store. It sure was convenient. :) Previously We had stayed in AB 38 and it was a nice walk (about 3-5 minutes) from our room across the bridges at Old Man Island and over to the main building.

Hi!
I can't wait till August now! Thanks for the pix. I
am amazed how much the rooms look like the
Wilderness Lodge!

Thanks for the pix they are great!

Thanks for the awsome pictures!!! We also can't wait for August. Did you request building 14 or did you just luck out? We requested 14........Keeping our fingers crossed!!!! pixiedust:

We had booked 2 rooms one with a king bed and one with a water view as close as possible. I requested a river view if possible for both rooms. When we arrived they did not have a river view for the king bed room. She gave us a choice for our water view room. It could be near the King Room in building 16 overlooking the pool or be in building 14 which was farther away from the king room but overlooking the river. I chose 14. :teeth:

daannzzz is right ....Building 14,Alligator Bayou is the one to request. We stayed there 9 times and found it to be the most convienient(sp?)
I have to ask though,,,anyone staying there lately that stayed there the first 5 years it was open................DO THE BEDS SEEMS MUCH HIGHER OFF THE GROUND THAN THEY USED TO????!!!! :yay:
I had a hard time getting up on them last trip!! I have stumpy legs I guess, but I don't remember them being that High!!!!

The beds ARE VERY HIGH off the ground! The thing is, I'm used to it because my bed at home is also very high off the ground. I can't imagine trying to crawl into bed if you're not used to it. :upsidedow

SeaSpray, did you stay in building #18? How was your walk to the bus stops? Did the rooms in AB feel tasteful even though they are in the cabin theme? Did anyone in your party use the pool slide?

Much thanks!:daisy:

Those are great! We loved feeding the ducks each morning. They would finally sit outside our door waiting for brekkie lol!

I do! :) I just got back from POR (also stayed in AB section) 2 weeks ago. Here is my web page full of POR pictures, including the main pool:

Loved your photos. We will be at POR in 15 days  This is the first time staying at this resort, however have walked around and ate at Boatwright's a couple of years ago. My kids also was looking at the pics with me and they are really excited about the ferry to DTD and the main pool.

We will be there in 16 days and I absolutely love seeing photos of the AB side! Thank you so much!

Well I am not SeaSpray, but we did stay in Building 18 on our trip last June.

The walk to the bus stop is very manageable. You just go between Buildings 14 and 15 and through the parking lot and you are there.

A matter of fact, Building 18 is in a very excellent location. It is centrally located to everything. If you look at a map of POR you will see what I mean.

The quiet pool is also right behind Building 18.

The best thing of all that I liked about this building, is the fact that you cannot see the parking lot. You are fully immersed in the theming of the resort.

The rooms are very nice. Pictures cannot really do them justice. They are rustic but modern all at the same time. You will not be disappointed. On the first day when we got to our room, once the door opened all of the kids made a collective "Wow!!". They loved it. You will too.

Again..not Seaspray, but we were in building #16 and loved the location. We also could not see the parking lot from our room, but had a beautiful view of a lush garden. My DS6, who does not know how to swim, was able to use the pool slide. I just stood off to the side and was there to grab him when he came down. He did that over and over! My boys also enjoyed the quiet pool behind building #18 and right next to the entrance we used to building #16. Very convenient. We loved the rooms and the rustic feel...the lamps above the beds are a nice touch. Enjoy your stay!
