POP's latest&greatest Frig Swap (still have openings)

I got the frig from Tanya. We know have 2 coffee pots! (This is being posted by DizneyDayz sister-she is OFF LINE while at the resort! Too bad for her!)

well I take it the coffee pot was there I posted about. I am thrilled. Have a wonderful time hon this is good news!!!

I'm a newbie at this. We could use the refrigerator from Feb. 5 to Feb. 10, 2009. Our plane arrives at 10:45 p.m. This is our 5th trip to WDW and second to POP. Can we pick up the refrigerator that late or wait until the next day? What a great idea. I await your response. Thank you.

Yikes!! Give me a chance to get home! Just kidding. I got home in So. Cal about 10:30 last night.

We had a great trip. Great weather. Only 1 rain storm which was on our last full day (9-10). We actually enjoy thunder and lightening! All the worry about hurricanes didn't adversely affect FL. It was actually the driest Sept. we've had there in all our trips. The last day the storm was awesome and was from the outer bands of Ike.

Now, on to swap news...... Yes, I got the 12 c. coffee maker as my DSis reported for me. I didn't open the box but I assume everything needed to make coffee was in there, except for the coffee (The box is taped shut.). My DMom enjoyed using the Senseo coffee maker every a.m. (Thanks DisneyDeeva!). Though I was surprised to find out you need 2 coffee pods to make one 8 oz. cup. It was very easy to use and the water heats up in about 90 secs. Before I made my Dmom's coffee I used it to make hot water for tea. For me it was a nice plus that the water that comes out without using the pods has no coffee taste.

No, I wasn't able to locate the bigger fridge. Maybe DisneyDeeva will have better luck. The smaller fridge worked fine. I picked it up from Tanya in the a.m. of 9/2. The shelf is missing but it makes it possible to stand up 1/2 gal. of milk and 2 ltr. bottles. I put 2 2 liter bottles of soda, 1 1/2 gal. milk in the fridge to start and 3 bottles of water in the freezer. That left room for leftover desserts, etc. The fridge will freeze the water bottles put be careful you don't freeze your other food as well. I found that setting it at around 5-6 worked well. It got colder the longer I used it. It was big enough for the 3 of us. As we added items to the fridge, if I needed more space I just took out the desserts that we weren't going to eat anyway. Also, I took out me DD's 2 ltr. Sprite (she never really used it anyway).

I also have added a fan to the swap. (16"? tabletop)picture to follow. After the first night my Dmom and I agreed we need to buy one for the (white) noise as well as the air circulation. The room a/c fan shuts down to automatic (from high) after only 10 min. Then the room gets too quiet and quickly becomes stuffy. The fan was a life saver. I sleep with a fan on me 365 days a year.

squirrel (actually a friend of hers) picked up the fridge (in box), 2 coffee makers (in original boxes) and the fan (not in box, put together) early yesterday a.m. (9-11).

I will post pictures of all swap items soon, as well as answering requests. As you can imagine I have alot of things to catch up on (laundry, messages, softball, etc.)

And yes mich, 9/20 to 9/29 is taken. Sorry

Christyerin-it's available from 11/24 to 11/26 if you want it. (Connie's PM came in before yours)

You are welcome! Since I think all the swaps before you are being done in person the fan should make it through to your stay. I did write "DIZNEYDAZ" on it as identification in case it goes MIA.

Don't worry about contributing anything. I'm happy that someone will get to use it. It was the best $23 we spent this trip! I would have skipped a meal if I had to to budget it for it but luckily we had more food than we could eat and didn't pay for any of it!

Ok, now I have to do some more laundry. Already unpacked most things (ok-they are still on the bedroom floor), started a load of clothes and dishes, cleaned the hamster's cage (I hear they only live about 2 years-got her for DD's 8th birthday, so so far she's lived 1 yr, only 1 yr. more to go ), and now I need to shower-I still have Florida hair!

WooHoo!! I am glad that there is a fan now. My whole family sleeps with a fan just for the noise at home and I was wondering how/what to do at POP.

When squirrel's friend arrived at my room yesterday he was surprised at all the stuff I had. He said, "I thought it was just a fridge?" I said, nope, it's a lot more than that. I had no problem with storing the boxes, whole. I put the fridge box in the corner of the closet and the Senseo box would fit easily inside. (You could turn it upside and it would be an additional surface to put things on next to the sink). I actually used the box DD sent the Senseo down in as our hamper and put that inside the fridge box. (that box was thrown away-the Senseo is still in it's original box.) I kept the other coffeemaker on top of the entertainment unit. I kept the fan box under the sink in case I wanted to reuse it. The coffeemaker box would easily fit under the sink as well. I decided not to put the fan back in the box as I couldn't get the fan apart. I figured it would be just as easy transporting the fan complete as in the box. You'll need to borrow a luggage cart for everything anyway.

I usually bring one of those smaller clip on fans but didn't really have the room this time. I plan on buying a bigger fan, each trip, from now on. It worked like a dream. My DMom and DD complained that the room was too cold so I kept it at about 74-75 and had the fan blowing on me. I was very happy!

hello- I am squeeky new at this, please bear with. Looking to reserve large frig or 2 small frig. for March 28 or 29, until april 3. We have two rooms and 7 people staying at pop. I hope this is the site I can do this. Is anybody out there reading this??

I feel sad about the large fridge, bummer it went missing. maybe another swap has it? glad the coffee pot was there. I will be leaving a hot pot for those wanting hot water and water for cup a soups etc. if you think it will be ok,I bought it just for this trip, and think it will make a great companion to those drinking tea's what do you think? I was worried I may not get a coffee pot so I got this so I could do coffee in tea bags also hot coco etc.

As far as 2 fridges you can get on more than one swap. The swaps for the most part all have 1 but if you get on two different ones you can have 2. This is what I did in August because we had 2 rooms. Just let the folks handeling the swap know that you will be doing 2 swaps. They can make a note and let anyone who is checking and ? why you are on 2 seperate swaps.
