poppies

Can someone confirm if these are poppies and if they are what kind of poppy.
I was sure they were when I snapped this picture but now I'm wondering if its a flower that looks similar.

They are poppies, I had some in a wildflower mix that I threw down in the yard a few years ago. I am not sure what kind they are tho. sorry.

Most likely oriental poppies (Papaver orientale). These re-seed themselves readily, and very commonly have that black or purple blotch on the petal.
