Hi gang,
Whats doing?? Whats happing?? How's everyone doing?? I'm beat!! I've been reading so much lately!! Today was field rescue pratice, which i love btw. We get to do live rescue pratice at the FDNY academy, it's a lot of fun. Todays senario was a construction worker who out of a open elevator at a building being build. Elevators at these sites are temporary and usually have no walls or protection, so one can easily fall out of it. Heres the kicker, the elevator stoped on the 22nd floor and since no one is now on it, is stuck there on 22. The building is still being built and has no other elevators and has no stairs yet.

The worker is stuck on the 18 floor with multible leg fractures and is unable to get himself down, there is also evedince that he might have a spinal fracture. So here it is, we have to find a way, any way to get to the 18 floor and safe. We can use anything at our disposle at the scene including our rescue gear and a ladder truck, heres where it takes a twist, there are high voltage power lines around the building, so using the ladder truck to get us up to 18, is out of the question, because we might hit it and fry ourselves. So we had to use ropes and pully system to get up there and then to get him down, remember this is not real, it's just a senario, however the FDNY academy does have tons of rela pratice buildings and other training things. We had a blast!! It was so much fun to get to work outside again.

On a side note, grandpa picked up ds from school, somewhere between that and before dw got home, ds got a hold of grandpa's hair clipper and gave himself a new haircut. He has several bald area on his head now, i'll have to take him to get a crew cut on saturday.:sad2:

Good Morning!

5. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE -- Romantic, warm, loving
You care about other people, can be counted on in a
pinch and expect the same in return. Intuitively keen. Can
be very emotional.

That's me! At first I picked ice cream, then read it and that was sooo not me at all! So I had to pick my second choice!:rotfl:

:confused3 Where is everybody?????

Has anybody been taking a peek at Timmy's pictures??? I love that lady.... every picture of her she has a frozen drink in her hand! I think we are going to get along just fine!!!!!!!:lmao:

Tia - I am so happy about Terry. Hopefully he will be home sooner than you know
Thanks Lori!! I am excited too, but I also know in the military to not put your eggs all into one basket. We'll see what happens.
You should try going to bed at a decent hour - you probably wouldn't be so tired :rotfl: <YAWN> It's 8 here and it's all I can do not to go to bed now :crazy2:

Wow, I can't even imagine trying to figure out that one! Glad it's you and not me though, I am sooooo scared of heights!

Well it's getting ot be summer anyway, a nice short haircut will probably be good! I am *trying* to look on the bright side of things!

Hello everyone, my father is on his wayhome as soon as someone comes and wheels him out. Everyone is doing well.

I have a lot going on and will most likely not be posting on this thread as often, but just wanted to let you all know he is doing well and thanks so much for keeping him in your prayers.

Have a great day everyone!!

You didn't tell us what you picked !

How did your daughters spacers go today ?

I picked:
6. CHOCOLATE ON CHOCOLATE -- Sexy; always ready to
give and receive. Very creative, adventurous,
ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a
cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid
to take chances. Will not settle for anything
average in life. Love to laugh.

Freakishly correct.

I should clarify. Jul had a palate expander put in. Her dentist has always called it a spacer (will make space) but one lady this morning at Jul's school was totally confused b/c to her 'spacers' are things put in between certain teeth to hold that space. Anywho, it went so great!!! It was quick. They were so good with her. It was probably easier than a cleaning. NO pain. She is adjusting soooo well. Her speech is still a little off but it'll just take a few days. She had spaghetti Os for dinner just fine. I am worried about her eating her sandwich everyday at school. If it gets troublesome, she will just simply not eat and I don't like that. I need an alternative.

I think I had one of those put in as a kid. Is it a wire put behind your teeth that you wiggle around? If so, I had that. Eating the first few days was kinda wierd because I had to get used to it being there. I did get food stuck in between there every so often.

Kind of. It is glued to her molars on both upper sides and there is a metal band (?) connecting. I have to use a tool to turn a little thing on the band. This way her teeth will have room to grow in.

Mine was a little different then. How long does she need to have them on for?

What? Don't you have insurance? If you don't, can't you just get it for $5 at Wal-mart?

Yes, I have insurance.... $100 WITH the insurance....not a preffered med. Its freaking Augmentin!!!

DMM, you have to get back in here tomorrow to keep this thread alive!! We are on the brink!!
