I think so too! Here's the deal, you do mine, I'll do yours... not clean, I mean burn! hahahaha:rotfl: I was thinking I would like to move rather than go through all the junk here... but you know, that was a moment of insanity, since I will still have to clean/purge to get the heck out of here and sell!!! I guess I should just stay and deal! :rolleyes1 :confused3

NO WAY It's much easier to just CLEAN PEOPLE!!! Just CLEAN

To all you in the Chicago area... did you see this morning's DING???? 60-80 bucks each way to MCO during May!!!! You lucky ducks. There have been no specials around here!

Ha ha ! Well ours isnt' early...it's split in 2 so the tax bite isn't quite so bad. They get one in March and one in September.

Yep we got our tax money back too...all going towards vacations...spring break, Boston in June, and NY/Conn in July, & Michigan in August

Parents i need your help! DH and I are wanting to sign up our kids in a dance class. There is one starting in a couple weeks and it lasts until June 3rd. So that's like 3 months of classes. They are once a week.

These classes are parent n me and they are at 5pm, so that it's still early to get to bed and DH can go too! :yay:

They are 165$ per kid...is this reasonable for dance? THanks a bunch!!

So that is about $60 a kid per month? That isn't that bad I guess. But when you pay for the 3 months all together for 2 kids, it seems like alot. Could you find something less? For your kids ages, maybe the kiddie gym is enough?

I am afraid you may think (6 months from now) that it was alot for 3 months.

But if you are looking forward to the experience, go for it.

Is that $165 for all 4 of you? meaning Sal would have one & you'd have one? That's still $13.75 per class...assuming there are 12 total classes. Most of the dance classes here for little ones are about $10 per class. Does the Rockford Park District have dance class????? Those are sometimes cheaper. Will Gabriel feel funny if he's the only boy? While I think it's GREA T to put him in dance class,,,will he be ok with it?

I should specify... I don't mean windex and scrubbing bubbles, I mean saying good bye to old clothes, toys, paperwork, mail, books, magazines, two old tv's, etc.... so hard to purge. I don't want to throw anything away, not only because I can 'remember the time.....' but I hate to throw anything in the trash, you know the whole landfill thing and all! BUT, I have good news and bad news today. The good news is that I will be throwing ALOT away!!!!! The bad news is that it is because I have over three feet of water in my basement. I was just down there trying to put in a sump pump, yup, in the icy water up to my thighs. Most of what is down there is at a loss. Lots of stuff was in plastic tubs, and they are open and floating around. Lots of toys, animitronic disney christmas figures, baby stuff....heartbreaking, just heartbreaking to see that much stuff floating. But, I guess getting rid of it, fire or flood... I can't go to jail for a flood! hee hee hee

WOW! What do you guys do for a living to get bonuses? They sound great! Paying stuff off, and saving, now there would be a concept!;) DH signed up for this new job and the head hunter said it would have a bonus. Actually, when figuring if we could live on what the salary would be, we factored in a bonus. Only one other job he had gave a bonus, and it was a nice sized one. Well, nobody told him that you don't get a bonus until after a full year of employment, you get one the following December, nor did we know that it was $1K. :sad2: Still waiting for that tuition reimbursement we didn't know he wasn't eligible for unitl after 1yr. :confused3

How long is the class? I usually try to keep my kids stuff to about $10-12/hour depending upon the class size and amount of attention they will receive. My DD and I did what was called the "mommy and me" dance class when she was 2.5 and we loved it!!!! BUT, I only had one to pay for, and there were only three parents with children in the class. :dance3: Let us know what you decide.

Scrappin- where are you going in Boston???? I am 12 miles outside of Boston.

Hi!

For the "cannot get rid of stuff": have someone else help you or better yet have someone else do it. They won't feel bad about throwing out your junk. ;)

I don't work, DH is an ERP systems manager. ( ) He has done it for about 8 yrs.

Patsfan, sorry about the water!! But be careful. You always hear awful stories about people getting hurt when working in their flooded basements.

patsfan - oh no!:   Sorry about the basement! That's awful!!!!!!!!!BE careful! I think there are services you can contract with to try to save some of the irreplaceable things? I'm so sorry! that's so terrible.

dh is a vp of a bank, he's the commercial lending dude.

Casey has a skating competition in Bourne, MA from June 21-25. not sure when we're going just yet.....working on that

thanks for the responses! When compared with the other classes we took it seemed on par, but Gabriel was usually free! haha! now that there are 2 of them :) well. As far as being the only boy, i don't think he will care, he's still all about getting down, whenever music comes on! I have not checked the park district, just because i am not a fan of Rockford. I don't mean to sound snobby, but when you leave my area, it's not great AT ALL! haah! i actually want to move into Cherry Valley, the town on the next street :) so i'm figuring i will stick with the privately owned stuff.

We will only miss one class with Disney in May, so i think it's still worth it, but i wasn't sure if that was normal! haha! It's the only class that combines Dance with tumbling and they love the kiddie Gym so much, i think learning how to tumble too would be cute :)

and yes that price includes one parent per kid, so we just have to pay the 165 x 2 :)

hahaha about no jail, but i'm sooo sorry that this happened!!!! that stinks :(

nothing exciting at all! DH is a warehouse manager. haha but it's in the HVAC industry and they have a goal on what they make $$$ wise and if the entire company (in the US) makes that goal, the employees get a percentage of the total over the goal. It's awesome awesome awesome, because last year was a GREAT year! :woohoo: hahaha :)

CLass starts in 3 weeks and it is 1hr long (half tumbling half dance) it's only once a week and the maximus is 12 children, BUT there are already 5 signed up and registration ends next week. That's why i was wondering if i should do it or not :) I also figured Spring would be our best bet for parent/children activities during the week, because Summer in the HVAC industry is killer! DH works ALOT b/c they are so busy :sad2: :(

I have dish pan hands!!:guilty: My back is killing me! The house is 85% Done, almost there. Gotta run and finish!!!

This is soo true! i do the throwing awayhere and i do it while DH is at work and guess what??? he never misses a thing! but let me try and do it on th weekend when he is here and he can find a use for EVERYTHING :sad2:
