A different way to do SS ...Whoever is chairing the event (SS would be Tia) a good way to do it would be to have an arrival date of some sort AND have everything shipped to you. You don't open it or anything, you just put a NEW mailing label on the boes and then match people up that way. Or something like that.

hahaha!!! DD wanted a DORA pinata and i was totally going to get it, but then DH reminded me that she would FREAK out when she saw kids totally beating him! haha!! so we got a rocking horse Pinata for pummeling and Curious George has pull strings for the pinata!

DH came into the office looking mystified! he wanted to know what i was baking! haha!! poor guy got sooo excited...BUT my I only have dried orange peel and cinnamon sticks slowly simmering on the stove!! *I think i will add some clove to the mix tomorrow!!

Ok, so I don't want everyone that hasn't gotten their SS to get excited... but I know that my person didn't get it yet because I sent it USPS Priority Mail on Monday.... so it should be there tomorrow. (I bought everything on 11/8, but I am such a procrastinator when it comes to this stuff! I usually am still sending Christmas presents out in MAY!) I didn't get one yet, but I am sure that it is on its way And if not, it's no big deal because I did really enjoy putting the one I sent out together. I REALLY do love to give rather than to receive. I know that people say that, but it does make me feel uncomfortable when someone gets me something, I don't know why, it's like I don't feel worthy .... hee hee hee I like to spread joy.

I apologize for not getting online more often. Like CAT said though, it was much easier to get online before the trip! At that time I would stay on the DIS all night till the wee hours of the morning and when I got off, inevitably I had found out about some deal, or what building to request, or what restaurant had our favorite food, so DH was more open to letting me stay on all that time, because when I got off I was able to say... "hey, I just saved us another ten bucks off the car rental!!!!" Now, the kids are all over me when I get on the computer. For example, I started this post at 7:05 Eastern time... it is now 7:54!!! The only reason I can even get to finish it is that they are packed away eating dinner!!!! The climber is in the high chair, so I get a minute to type!!!! UGH! BUT, of course I am hearing "mommy!" coming from the other room. When I do get on, I don't have much time to skim through the tons of pages that I miss. So, I hope you all are happy and healthy, and enjoying the season.... oh, goodness, a plate just flew off the highchair! BAH HUMBUGH!

So, I will talk to you all later. And, I am HERE!

Yep. It's your party and your money. Do what you want. IF they do not care for it then they can eat before or after. That's my opinion anyway.

For the pinata - how about change? Do you have a jar of pennies or something? Kids ALWAYS like getting money. You could do a mix of change with something else. Or hmmmm... maybe crafty stuff and then after it is all busted the kids get to make a special project with the stuff they collected? I dunno, I have never done one myself but they are wildly popular here, go figure.
Sorry your DD is sick still. Poor baby, that must be really hard. I hope she gets to feeling better soon!!

I like the idea of everything coming to me.
MAYBE we could do a white elephant type deal. Everyone send me a wrapped white elephant gift and like $5.00 for shipping. And then I randomly pick a gift and ship it off.
I also thought about maybe a project that is continuous. Like a chain letter but more fun.
I have a year (thank god) to figure it all out!

Ok ladies (and PJ!) I HAVE to start getting my hosue together. It is a wreck. Shopping bags everywhere.... my PQ stuff out and about. I still need to find a place for the in-laws to sleep. Ryan told his grandma that grandpa can sleep outside with the dog! Ah, kids. (did I tell you all that already? Early old timers disease! )
Tomorrow will be my starting day. IT has to get done! Although there are about 1000 other things i NEED to do as well. Deep breath. It will all fall into place, I just know it!

Just wanted to comment to whomever get my SS gift. Inside of everything is a pink bag hahaha!! i ran out of wrapping paper in between everything, so PLEASE don't throw it away and think i just shoved filler in there!! there is actually something in the bag!!

I love the continuous things! I did the Disney College Program in 1999 and my roommates and i still keep in touch from the moment we left with chain letters! I started it by writing just a generic letter and including stickers and pictures and stuff that meant something to us and then i shipped it off to the first roomie closest to me geographically and THEN inside the letter there was a sheet of all the addresses in the order they had to be mailed out. THen the person that got it added her letter and her stuff and took out something i sent in and off it went! When the last person got it, they would remove my letter and it would begin again it was fun to always here about what was going on with everyone and you never knew when you would get it! some roomies would keep the letter for weeks, others would mail it out the next day! soo cool!
