I was totally mad at the ending. They totally over hyped it and i don't think it even came close to living up to the hype!!

Other than that i'm doing fine just unusually busy and of course going through vacay withdrawl! Too much going on with the kids (swimming, mommy & Me, gymboree) and now Thanksgiving and Christmas and a Kids birthday party all to plan before the year is up and our January trip (i'm really thinking of dropping it though ) and then my Dads surprise PArty... i don't think i will be able to breath normally until March...then i turn 27 i'm closer to 30!! hahaha!!

How's everyone doing. Well today i want to the FDNY academy , for a prep class to the 8 month program i was telling you all about. Anyway they are having a test, on dec 9th for this program that i want to take. Here's what i found out today. There are 66 seats in the class that will start march 16 and go thru until nov 28. Out of the 66 seats only 50 are for us and the other 16 are for Lt's, captains,chiefs and commanders. So far only 190 personal were given recomended letters for the program out of a dept of over 20,000. You must have a letter from your battalion commander to be allowed to take the test. Every FDNY test i every taken deals with senarios about situations on the streets, its bascilly how would you do this or that in a emergency situation. This one test will differ greatly. Tonight at this prep class, btw that only 15 people showed up for out of the 190, we were told to brush up on our math and reading skills, Instead of the whole test being about field operations and emergency situations, 50% will be about field operations, 25% will have 12th grade math and 25% will be 12th grade english. Well anyway i'm not to worried since i did graduate 12th grade and had some college in me, but i will run to the local book store tommorrow and get some books to refresh my memory on these subjects. I was amazed however that out of 190 who plan to take this test to get in only 15 people showed up to take a prep class.Btw call me mr popular cause out of the 15 i knew 10. A few big wigs from the FDNY were there and you could tell they were not too thrilled about the turn out of only 15. So i take the test dec 9, its a 1000(yes a thousand) question test with a time limit of 3 and a half hours.

this is the 6th time in over 35 years that this program is being offered. I was told that it will not be offered again for another 10 years.To be honest i am terrfied, the test has a failure rate of over 60% and the program has a failure rate of 50% so people who have passed the test and made the program still have gotten kicked out. If i make the whole thing and pass, i will have to start all over again as a 'new guy" as some other fire house. My time will still count but i will end up at a different fire house anywhere in the city.When anyone knew shows up at a new fire house that has time on the job the first question is always where did you work or put your time in. Right now i work at the busiest firehouse in the whole city,We have the most runs per day as well as real jobs, So alot of guys will have understand that even if i knew at thier fire house i have worked at a real fire house and have put my time in.So they won't bust my chops too much. Also Dw made me a promise, this advanced rescue program comes with a nice raise. If i finish and pass it of course.So If i make it and graduate it, i will be finishing it in nov 2007, we will go to disney as a celebration for dec 2007! Maybe even stay at contempoary or grand fla. Anyway i have a ton of studing to do and my chief explained to me that most guys who pass this program are thought of first when they are looking to make some new FDNY Lieutenant's.

Can you say Lieutenant mrFDNY??? Maybe one day. Anyway A FDNY Lieutenant Can make well over 120 grand in a single year,that means more disney. Well maybe one day who knows. I am still looking at my options elsewhere. So thats really it. I have off until sunday,so tomorrow i am gonna run to barnes and nobles and get some books to study with. So how's everyone been? Whats new?? The other thing i've beeen looking at is(said in his best the price is right voice) ITS A NEW CAR. Actually just looking i really like the chevolet hhr and the suzuki sx4 sport has really took my eye. Maybe next year, i will trade mine in. Friday we are most likely going to the movies to see flushed away, i Know its not disney but ds really wants to see it.

Hi, everyone! Work's been crazy busy so I haven't been on in a couple of days. I have to write up 16 performance reviews for my staff before Monday , so I won't be here much.

DH had a relapse last night. He's going back to the doctor today, but he said he can feel it in his lung again and he had about 4 coughing fits last night, the first time he's had one of those in about a week. *sigh* I just want him to graduate college and be done so he can rest and get healthy. Dunno now about the cruise we wanted to take at New Years...with him being sick, it may not be worth the risk of booking. Anyone know how close to a DCL sailing you're allowed to book?

This chest virus that went around is seriously a nasty one.

I am way way way better than I was, but hell - I went to Disney on September 23 and was sick a few days before that...and I *still* have a tickle in my chest and am not breathing at 100%.

Man! What a nasty virus. Ill think good thoughts for him. I have asthma, so I know what it feels like to be heavy chested.

Erica Good luck with DH!!! i hope he feel better you can book i believe right up to the day before sailing as long as there is availability. Then you have to pay it right away of course and the price goes up i believe each month that it gets closer.

Holy cow woman... you need a nice trip to a day spa! Can I come too? I am missing Disney too. I ordered my photo pass pics last night (they expire today) and that made me really sad. I am hoping to go to DisneyLand in March. I know it will be busy because of Spring Break, but whatever. It's Disney right? Plus I know that Sea World is giving free tickets for military, so we might take advantage of that.
I am sorry you might have to drop your vaca. But there are always mroe trips to plan right?
When is your B-Day in March? I am March 3rd. I will be 29. blech.

Performance reviews.... *shudder* those always made me nervous. Have fun writing them! I do not envy you at all.

Alright - I survived the Gyne appointment. *phew*

I dont know WHY I got so nervous...maybe cuz it's been a while, but geez, I wasnt THAT nervous when I had to go when I was pregnant - AT AGE 17!!!

So, I have to go back for an Ultrasound - make sure I dont have an enourmous melon sized tumor growing in my uterus. Which, Im sure will NOT be the case.... and then we'll discuss options.

You know - as much as Im "done" having kids - the thought of permanent BC freaks me out. Isnt that weird?

They do this cool procedure in their office: http://www.essure.com/ which sounds great, but it doesnt really fix the heavy bleeding thing.

Then there's this: http://www.mirena-us.com/index.jsp which to me, kills 2 birds with one stone. Birth Control AND period control...

And then the Doc said - y'know, this could just be the way your body is - heavy periods. Which doesnt suprise me, my mom's were wicked!!! Thanks a lot heredity!!!

Ok who got me sick???? I remember someone posting that they were sick and another posting that thier husband is sick, so which one of you did not wash your germ infestied hands before posting here and passed your virus to me???

I woke up this morning and instantly felt like i had been hit or run over by a mack truck and i know there is only one thing that makes me feel like that, a hang over or a fever. since i had not had any thing to drink for a while, it must be a fever. I also have a sore throat. Anyway i will be ok. just took some tylenol and made a nice cup of hot tea to enjoy for the throat.

Thanks for the good wishes! DH (and I!) went to the doctor, who said it sounds like he has now developed pleurisy, which is common in those with recent pneumonia. I looked it up on WebMD (cause I've heard of it, but had no idea what it was!), and it's basically an inflammation of the chest and lungs. The cure: rest and ibuprofen. So, looks like DH is out of work for another week (this will be week 4)...thank goodness he has short term disability kick in when his sick time runs out.

So, since the doc prescribed rest, the cruise is on as soon as I get approval for time off from work! Keep your fingers crossed it doesn't sell out before then!
