POP & WL - How to split stay?

First just let me ask....Does the second guessing ever end? I had ressies for 7 nights at WL in September then added 1 night at POP because the airfare was cheaper to fly out a day earlier and that would give me an extra day, which is a great thing!:teeth: It will be me, DH and DD(13). We have been 6 times since 1995 so while we are (maybe) not experts, we are certainly not newbies. We will have a rental car. We have not stayed at either of these resorts. Usually stay at POR and have also tried POFQ and CBR. POR is favorite so far. I have read tons of posts on WL and am sure we are going to love it. When I added POP I read as many of those posts as I could (even the "I hate POP" ones:earseek: ) and I still think I would like POP. So now I am thinking that one night at POP may not be enough to even form an accurate opinion and I could even save some money by changing ressie to 3 nights at POP and 5 at WL. Is there anyone out there that has stayed at both of these and likes them both? I know one is value and one is deluxe and I know what expectations I should have from both and would be going into this knowing that and would not be comparing them against each other. We would stay at POP first then WL. Just wanted to hear from some of you other DISer pros!:wave2: Thanks!

#1Dis....I am doing exactly that on our upcoming trip.

We generally do a "before and after" reservation...since our traveling time is so long. This trip we will spend two nightts at PC, check into the WL...for our package...for 7 nights and finally return to PC for our final two nights.

If you like I will post a report upon our return.

i think you idea of part at each is a good one, but I really really like the WL and mabye you could do 6 and 2 instead.

what I do is the save the WL for last because you might
regret going from deluxe to value, but never the other way around.

good luck in your decision:sunny:

We did this exactly - for the week of July 4th - we stayed 3 nights at Pop Century then 5 nights at Wilderness Lodge!! It was GREAT!!!

We loved our stay at Pop Century - I wouldn't have minded staying a week there. The resort is so nice, bus service was great, and even though our room overlooked the kiddy pool, we never heard anything!!! The night before we were to transfer, I called Bell Services. They asked how many bags we had to transfer, and then told me to leave the luggage in the room and they would come get it.

That day, we went to Typhoon Lagoon, and then went to check in at Wilderness Lodge. Our luggage was there waiting for us!!! We absolutely LOVED Wilderness Lodge! It was so nice! Bus and Boat service was great, and our room was quiet! We were on the 5th floor, again overlooking the pool area!

We really liked both hotels, and I would switch hotels again (it was all handled so well!) Enjoy your stay!!!!

While I have stayed at Pop several times and enjoyed it, I would never give up any days at The Wilderness Lodge. Two nights will give you the feel of the Pop Resort...but I always want more days at the Lodge, not less.

Have a great trip.

We have decided to do the 3 nights at POP and 5 nights at WL. We wanted to give POP a fair chance and who knows...after WL we may never want to stay anywhere else like so many of the die-hard WL fans :teeth: Thanks for the opinions!

Have a great time! I agree with your decision that 1 night would not be long enough at Pop. A 3/5 split will give you enough time at Pop and will also save you some $.
