We are staying at the Pop Century 1 night before we head over to the BoardWalk - have to save those points - Any favorite places to stay -would like to be by the pool/restaurant...

60's building. Its preferred rate, but close to one of the pools, lake and food court and buses. We plan to stay there again. We liked being on the first floor too with a stroller.

I prefer lake view in either the 70's or 50's since I don't like the noise of the pool late at night, or lots of people walking by the room like when facing the foosball court in Feb.

We had 70's lake view last month and it was only about a 3 minute walk to the food court.

I was only able to get a preferred AP rate for later this month and wasn't crazy about paying the extra $10/night, but it's only for 2 nights and not a big deal.

We stayed in the 70's bldg last month and had a courtyard view. We loved it and the walk is not bad at all. :wizard:

If you are only going to be there one night I think it would depend on what you are doing? For us the first day consisted of changing clothes in the room and then walking to the bus. In the morning we walked through the main area to get our mugs filled. We stayed in the 80/90s area. We requested a change. I didn't enjoy walking through the parking lot to get to the bus. It took away from the magic. If you want to see the resort, I would request a room other than the 80/90s. It's not in the middle of things. If you want a quiet pool that area is great. That pool was quiet while we were there.

I would never pay the extra money to stay in the preferred buildings in any of the value resorts. I think it's a really cheesy way for Disney to get more money out of people. It's not that much better. In some cases, you could be further away from the pool and main area in the preferred section than you are in the '50 or '70.

I also have to say the 70's. It is as close as the 60's but without the additional $10 a night. We stayed there in December and it is close to everything. We were on the 4th floor facing the courtyard also and had a great view of the fireworks. In fact we enjoyed it so much, we are starting to plan another trip.
