I was not planning on going to Disney this year but last minute changed my mind and booked POP for 8/21 to 8/27. In reading these threads I am wondering if its worth changing my ressies to Coronado. If anyone has stayed in either of these, can you share some insight as to whether its worth spending the extra money. We usually go to the parks in the am, return to the hotel after lunch and return to the parks about 4-5pm until closing. So our time in the hotel is from about 1-4 pm daily and after pm return from parks. Family of 4, two boys 16 and 8. We have stayed at moderates before, 1 deluxe but never a value. So personal experience info is great. thanks

I've stayed in both (in fact, we did one week in Pop followed by a week at Coronado Springs!). It really depends on what you want from your trip.

At Pop you get a good, normal food court, three pools none of which have a slide and a pretty small room (with a big TV!). The theming is also very good.

At Coronado Springs you get a more upscale food court (you need to speak to the hostess when you visit and advise whether you are getting take-out or sit-down). The food is better than a normal food court, but more expensive. The main pool at Coronado Springs is fantastic. On a par if not better than many of the deluxe resorts and you do get a bigger room with a privacy curtain at the sink area, if this is something useful to you. Again, the theming is very good.

In short, I love both resorts and would stay at either again!

We are in the same situation. We booked our trip from 8/21 - 8/28 a long time ago to stay at POP. However, last Thursday I called and upgraded to CSR. We stayed at CSR last year and loved it. It was only about 350 to upgrade so we did it. CSR is great. Maybe we'll see you there? :goodvibes

I agree, it depends what you want out of your trip. I'm sure you would be happy at either resort. If money is an issue, I would stay with POP. If moeny is no object, I would stay at CSR or maybe split the stay. We love the pool area at CSR, the Pepper Market and the transportation and central locale of the resort.

We just got back this past Monday from a stay at Pop. We stayed at CSR back in 2001. Though we liked Pop (and we definitely liked it more than All Stars), we did find it to be pretty crowded and pretty noisy. We couldn't hear everything in our room like I had read on here so many times...maybe it was our location (were were in building 10, room 101). We didn't find Pop to be that bad. However, I love the moderates...I love the theming, the quietness of them, their layouts, everything. What it would come down to for me is the money issue. Money was kind of tight for us on this trip, so we opted for a value. If it wasn't an issue, we most definitely would have chosen a moderate.

To me, the extra $350 is worth it because you will get...

1. A Bigger Room
2. More Upscale Theming
3. Nicer Food Court
4. Great Location
5. A MUCH quieter resort

I agree with the other posters, it all depends on your money situation. I can easily see staying at POP also, because it is another good resort, but if you can afford it, just upgrade :)
