Hello all! This trip will be my first stay on site in the World. I currently have reservations at the Pop but I can move up to the Carribean Beach for $100 more (a week's trip). Should I do it? We aren't in our rooms very much. It might be worth it if we had less time on the shuttles to and from the parks but from the map I'm thinking that won't be the case. Advice please!?

you are better off at Pop.

CBR is a big resort you have 5 stops before you leave to the parks.

Pop has one.

I think Pop has the best transportation of any of the WDW resorts and that includes the DVC resorts.

How are you able to upgrade for only $100 for a week. That's only $14 more per night????? Or are you saying $100 more per night?

Through the visa code special that's going on right now. That's almost enough to cover the cost of the fridge we'd have to pay for at Pop! But if it means longer transport time, I'll probably pass. Thanks for the info spicey cat!

I've never stayed at Pop. I have stayed at ASMovies, so have been in a Value.

We just got back from a weekend at CBR. Yes, the bus makes multiple stops, but it still wasn't more than 30 minutes to MK and from MK to our stop. They go through the stops quickly.

And it is a spread out resort. But it's very quiet and peaceful.

And frankly, DH and I decided that it's worth it to pay a little more for a Mod. It was so quiet, not a lot of foot traffic. I heard nobody at night. We just feel like the values are busier and louder.

But that's just us.

Well that doesn't seem TOO bad. I wonder if shuttles would come more or less often during my trip (November 15-22) than when you were there in August

Another vote for Pop.
It's my favorite!!
And I have stayed at CBR, but only once, I didn't like the way it was spread out.

Me and my DBF were going to do POP w/ dining plan but with the visa code we went with CRB w/ dining plan for the orginal price (w/o code) that we we would have paid for POP. I think it is worth it cause we don't have kids and are going to romance and relaxing. Besides if a far walk is your worry you can always put in a request for the villages of Trinidad North or Martinique if your doing a preferred room; Jamaica or Aruba if your doing standard those are the closer buildings. They weren't any more preferred rooms left for Nov 4- Nov9 for us :( so we requested Aruba. Anywho good luck! I am just happy because I was bummed about having to stay at the POP, I didn't think it would be to romantic. :) Very thankful for the code.

I've stayed at both and I love them very much .... but they're very different.

CB has a real grown up adult feel. The grounds are gorgeous, it's spread out and peaceful. It really does feel like being at a tropical resort. They've even got hammocks that you can lay around in on the lakeside "beach" The food court is much better in terms of selection and it has a sit down restaurant. The rooms are a little nicer, bigger and I don't remember hearing anyones toilet flush. There are several stops, but I didn't find the bus service to be slow at all.

PoP is lots of fun and very kitchy <sp?> It's like a glorified Days Inn. Seriously it's the best maintained, best themed motel you've ever seen. If you have young kids they'll probably like it a lot more. The huge statues, the goofy fountain, bright colors, etc really appeal to young kids.

I adored our stay at CB, but the next year we stayed at one of the values and my daughter (aged 7 at the time) said "This is soooo much nicer then the last hotel we stayed at! @@

So I'd say if it's a grown up trip, or your kids are older then 12, and the price is close I'd totally stay at CB. But if its a signifigant savings and/or your kids are little definitely go with PoP.

Well we ARE all adults so that's something to consider. Disney's site mentions something about an inside resort bus since it's so big. Is that true?

CBR HANDS DOWN!!!!! its an awesome resort. forget POP and go with CBR:banana:

:thumbsup2 CBR.... We have had the chance to stay at each type of resort and have chosen to go back to CBR. Just like its feel.

I have stayed at both POP and CBR and we had a great time at both resorts. But if I had to pick I would chose to stay at CBR. I thought CBR had such a relaxing feel to it. We didn't have any problem with transportation when we stayed there.

I just switched to CBR from POP with the disney visa code. It was about $150 more. Our fave resort is Poly but couldn't swing it so CBR looked like a great mod choice. I would have stuck with POP if I would have saved any $ but didn't feel like paying rack for our package.

I have stayed at neither, but I would choose CBR after comparing the 2 on allears.

Yes, there is an internal resort bus. We didn't use it though.

And we were in a king room in Jamaica, which is also a nice village. Very quiet--especially since it is across the water from Port Royale. Trinidad North is right by Port Royale, but got a lot more foot traffic. We didn't mind a little bit further walk for what was basically no foot traffic outside of our room.
