Pop vs AS sports

Looking for opinions on which one to choose. Some background info. This will be an adult only trip. We are dvc owners who are using our points on our family trip in July. We will going again next June so my husband and I are doing a budget adult only trip. We have stayed at Pop before but never an all star. We are currently booked at sports but pop is available for about $130 more. Part of me wants to go to Pop because we know that resort but another part says use the $130 for the Halloween party. What would you do? I guess I am just nervous I won’t like the all stars. Thanks for the help.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stays at all the All Stars with Sports being our favorite. I would definitely save the $$ and keep Sports. It's a great resort.

I know it is only 1%, but keep in mind the All-Star resorts or 1% higher in taxes than the other resorts because of its location. Maybe that’ll help offset just a few dollars to help you rationalize stay where you want to stay. But I’m all for trying something new when the opportunity arises. You never know!

I would look into the schedule for sports at WWoS. Lots of huge sports competitions book out AS Sports for their teams and it could be completely overrun with kids/teens, and noisy. If I was doing an adults only weekend I would go somewhere else, pretty much anywhere else!

Nothing on the schedule for September as far as sports competitions staying on site.

My DD and I did a last minute trip in March-all star sports was pretty much only resort available that I didn't need to sell a kidney to afford. I was surprised by how much I did enjoy it! The beds were pretty comfy, lots of teens (seemed there was a ton of band trips) but no issues with them. And the buses were great!!! (Well except from AK-not sure why but that park for me has ALWAYS been an issue getting back to resort-7 BB buses to one Sports bus bad). We never used food court as we ate at booths at Flower and garden. September will have Food and Wine (mmm)

I also really enjoyed Pop, especially being able to walk to AoA food court, and of course-the new rooms. With just 2 of you the murphy bed could stay up so you would have table space as well.

But I'd choose to save money and go to Halloween party every time!

having stayed at All-Star Sports and Music, i can say they both are perfectly fine as long as you have reasonable expectations. it's not a deluxe resort experience but it's not Motel 6 off the sketchy highway exit either. probably the biggest issue is the bus ride; it's a long LONG drive back from the Magic Kingdom and Epcot at the end of the day when your feet are tired and burning. but you'll have a long ride at Pop as well.

is it worth saving the extra money to afford the halloween party? without a doubt.
