have great rate for 12/12/-12/19 (ap rate). will i be verey disappointed after staying at dvc resorts? traveling alone, hoping for a lakeview in 70's section. i love having a fridg, micro, balcony, etc. but also really enjoy food courts to people watch, etc.

thanks.

We just returned from that exact scenario. We spent 4 nights at Pop and 3 at WLV. Pop was very cute and there are tons of people to watch which also makes it a little noisy. WLV was so relaxing and beautiful that we hated to leave. The one thing that I needed after a day at the parks was a hot tub which Pop does not have.

It all depends on what mindset you go with. If you go with the mindset that you love DVC resorts, and you're going to miss all the amenities, then yes, you will be dissapointed. If you go with the mindset that it's a Value resort, and you're getting a great deal, and you're going to have fun, then I think you will enjoy it. :)

I'd look inot renting DVC points to stay a little longer at a DVC resort, or also look at the rates at the DTD Hilton, close enough to still feel like you are onsite, very nice rooms with fridge and coffee maker (don't remember a microwave.)

I think I may be the sole person in all of creation who was not impressed with DVC accomodations. We rented points at BWV and it was just "eh".

I'm of the mindset, though, that I need a clean, comfortable place to lay my weary head after a long day in the parks. We've done the deluxe thing, and now that we have three kiddos (talk about a lifelong dream coming true!) I'd rather have the extra $$ to spend on them in the parks.

We own DVC and have stayed at all sorts of resorts. I have stayed in ASMo after staying at OKW and VWL and all I have to say is "Hey I'm at Disney World" .......so to me it never matters.

I often stay at PC on weekends and DVC on weekdays to save my DVC points. Doesn't bother me to switch. I'm saving points and cash that way.

While the DVC resorts have all the amenities, I've found much faster bus transportation from Pop.

Oct 8&9 we just spent at the Caribbean Beach after spending 6nights at the VWL - we had intentions of staying at MILs that wknd but couldnt due to hurricane damage

Next Aug18-21 I have a ressie at PO/Riverside followed by 6nights at VWL - think its best to "move up" if possible
05s vaca will be using up 04s pts - 05s pts will be rolled over to 06
