I'm in the planning process of converting my pop up into a toy hauler. There's a few models out there that have a deck on the front for hauling 4 wheelers and other toys. I'm debating as to whether we will extend the frame out and add a heavier duty axle or take the pup off the axle it's on now and attach it to a new dual axle 24' deck over trailer. I am leaning towards the trailer mod because the trailer I'm looking at buying will fit 3 four wheelers and my pup on it without being at risk for weight issues. I can get this done for around 2.5k which beats the alternative of buying a new or used model. They want like 10k for a new one and the used one's are steep too. It also will be easier to throw the golf cart on when it's on rental.

I'd definitely go with option 2 you would be a lot safer. It's a totally different frame under the ones with the front deck..

Not necessarily. It just makes my blood boil to have 2 campers and neither of them allow me to haul my other hobby (4 wheeling). We're going to the Hatfield McCoy Trails in W. VA in late April. I can rent a cabin like we've been doing or this. Whenever I get a chance I go to Ocala Nat'l Forest or we take a trip to GA to ride. I used to have a 21' Tailgator that I could take 3 four wheelers in. Now I can only take one.

So why are you not posting this on RV.net?? They are the most qualified experts, in their opinion!;)

Man Donnie its funny the things we think of to haul our toys. I thought about doing the same thing with our old 5er. I looked in to buying a used 40'goose neck dovetail for around 5 grand. Then removing the axels off of the 5er and sitting it up on the gooseneck.(bolted down ) But I went the route of the swivel wheel because it was easy or so I thought it would be. But you know the rest of the story we now have our diesel drinking wolfpack. Oh yeah I say go for it. I would get about a 30' gooseneck and set the popup on the front sideways.

Sitting the pup sideways was my fabricators 1st idea bcuz you could stack more 4 wheelers and not such a long trailer but the pup is 12' long so sitting sideways it's gonna be too big. Got some trailer prices today which I was not happy with. I know a manufacturer in Mayo, FL who I'm going to talk to Monday and get a price with no deck at all. We can put the pup on and expanded metal for the quads.
