Trying to get an idea of how long the bus service will be for us? We're going in Sept and using Disney buses :)

Assuming the park opens at 9am and we want to be there about 8:30 for rope drop we'll need to catch the bus leaving the POP at about what time? Would 8:15 be too late?

We'll want to eat breakfast, but I was thinking we could grab something from the POP counter service and use our free refillable mugs. We'll have to run them back to our room before we leave. So breakfast about 7:45 making that a 7 am wakeup time (phew....that's early for vacation ~ lol) Of course I guess we could just grab breakfast with a snack credit in the park and sleep a little later ~ we aren't huge breakfast eaters ~ we're more cereal people :)

Any comments, opinions, suggestions? I'm trying to make sure our mornings go smoothly.

If you're on the bus at 8:15 a.m. you could be getting to the MK gate in advance of rope drop, but probably not by 8:30 a.m. You certainly don't want to be just getting to the bus stop at 8:15 a.m. if you want to guarantee being there by rope drop much less by 8:30 a.m. The challenge is that buses may come around only 20 minutes or so. As a result, if you get there at 8:15 a.m. and have just missed a bus it could be after 8:30 a.m. before another one even comes.

If you want to be at MK by rope drop, I would say you should plan on being at the bus pick-up location no later than 8:00 a.m. for the first buses through.

Yep, I'd say get to the bus stop at 8. There may be a bus that pulls up as you arrive, or you may wait a few minutes for a bus. We always aimed to get to the bus stop an hour before rope drop, and it seemed to work out well.

Our routine was usually to hit the food court, get something easily eaten on the go, then eat breakfast while waiting in the bus line. If the bus came right away, we'd eat the breakfast at the park while waiting for rope drop. We took our mugs to the park with us; they proved handy on more than one occasion. (Leftover soda after lunch, one time we had to take dessert to run and threw it in our mugs, lmbo!) I hooked mine with a cheap caribeener to my water bottle bag and it was no problem at all. That said, we were a party of four adults -- if you have little kids who can't carry their own, it might not work so well. We also had them handy, then, to stop on our way back to the parks and grab a drink before heading upstairs.

With there being 7 of us and 4 kids I know I'll be the one hauling all the cups. Yeah ~ I'll pass on that. We'll just plan on being up by 7 so we can eat and make it to the bus stop by 8. Thanks everyone for the help!! :)
