POP to Chef Mickey's for a 7:20 AM resevation

Can someone tell me the best way to get from POP to Chef Mickey's in the early AM? We will not have a car. And, if a taxi is the best bet, can you guess about what it would cost? Thanks!

There are buses that start running around 6:30am just for this purpose of Character breakfasts. Check w/ the front desk the night before to be sure.

I thought so, but then I read that you can't get from resort to resort by bus. So, does that mean they will have a special bus that goes from POP to Contemporary early that morning?

You may just have to take the bus to Magic Kingdom and get on the monorail to get to the Comtemporary. Usually though the bus driver will ask you where you are going and they will drop you off at that hotel.

If you take the 6:30 AM bus to the Magic Kingdom and assuming that the bus driver is not able to drop you off at the Contemporary I would use the walkway to there from the Magic Kingdom, because from their bus station you are already half way there and by the time you walk over to the Monorail station you could have arrived at the Contemporary.

Buses start no later than an hour before MK opens for that day. Taxi fare will be $25ish.

MK opens at 9 that morning. So, I guess I can't expect a bus to MK at 6:30. I'd hate to pay 25 for a taxi! But, I will if I have to.

Buses for everyday travel to and from the parks starts an hour before the parks open. The bus for MK for breakfasts will start no later than 630am. (Character breakfasts buses to other parks generally start around 7am.) I've read from some that it can start earlier. They start earlier for MK because of the earlier breakfast ADR's at monorail resorts. Check with your transportation CM at POP the night before. I believe Trns. CM are dressed in purple. Just let them know that you have 720am ressie at Chef Mickey's and everything should be fine. Worst case scenario, if you miss the early bus, you could call a cab and make it in time that way.

If you catch the 630am bus you should have no problems making it to your ADR.

Be sure to tell your bus driver that you are eating at the Contemporary Resort. If you're lucky and have a really nice driver, they might drop you off a CR instead of making you walk. Don't expect it, but it's a nice bonus if it happens. Ask, and the worst they can tell you is "no."

This happened to us last week for a CG dinner,
we were the only ones on the MK bus and the driver dropped us at the contemporary! Maybe he took pity on us with 2 small kids and 2 strollers!

Fellow LI'r, do yourself a favor and take the under $20 cab ride at 7am instead of making life crazy trying to catch a maybe 6:30 am bus. It is well worth it your family will thank you. Have a grat trip. What town are ya in WI here.

I'm on the north shore, in Sound Beach. My sister lives in Sayville. I think I will probably decide about the bus when we are there. This meal is on our last day.

On our October trip last year we had a 7:30 ADR for Chef Mickey's and we were leaving from POR. We caught a MK bus between 6:30 and 6:45 as we arrived at the MK we started to get up to get off and our bus driver asked if we were going to Chef Mickey's we told him we were and with that he told us to sit back down cause that where we were headed.
He explained that the early buses are for that purpose to get folks from MK to Contempoary.
When we arrived at Chef Mickey's there was no line and we were taken right in. I would say you have no worries at all at that time of the morning for a wait at Chef Mickey's even if you are a few minutes late they will seat you quikly..
