It's been just over a month since our trip, so all this was the last week of Jan. I realized that I read a LOT of these dining reviews before our trip, so I should contribute my part. Here's a very condensed version of our dining experiences. It was just me and DH. We aren't picky eaters. I had made a few ADRs before we left for the nicer places. We weren't on the DP.

Day 1 - Didn't arrive till around 3 (we drove). We headed to DTD to walk around. Decided to eat dinner at Earl of Sandwich. The ordering process was smooth and fast. However their set-up for picking up your order seemed like it needed some work. They seemed very backed up, so there were about 30 people hovering waiting on their orders. It took too long in my opinion. But the sandwiches were REALLY good. I honestly don't remember which ones we got. I think mine was the Original. We got a bag of chips to share. My only regret was that our dinner didn't consist of any fruits or veggies. We should have gotten a side salad or something to go with it.

Then we somehow found our way into Goofy's Candy Shop. I love the chocolate dipped marshmallows on a stick (or really a straw). DH got a chocolate peanut butter cup thing. Yum!

Day 2 - We stopped at the DTD McDonalds on our way to MGM. I mention this only b/c of the price. We had eaten breakfast at our local McD's the morning before as we hit the interstate to head to Florida. We both got the EXACT same thing as the day before, yet our price was almost $3 more!!

I had made an ADR for lunch at Sci-Fi. DH has never been to MGM and I wanted him to eat here. I love the atmosphere. We both had cheeseburgers with fries. They were very good. Then we split a chocolate shake. The waiter brought it to us in 2 separate glasses. I thought that was very nice. I have never had anything here but burgers and have never been disappointed. We live near an actual drive-in and they don't serve pasta, roast, etc. So it doesn't seem right to eat something like that at a drive-in to me!

We headed back to Pop for a nap and then decided to hit MK for Spectro and Wishes. We wound up eating dinner in Pinnochio's. I had the turkey pannini with chips. DH had the salad. It was pretty good. I liked the sandwich. DH was very happy with his salad.

Day 3 - Epcot, here we come! Oh, I need to mention that the rest of our stay we ate breakfast in our room. (cereal, granola bars, etc.) We ate lunch at Electric Umbrella. DH had the double cheeseburger and fries. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and fries. We were both very satisifed with our choices. No complaints so far! After that we ate our way around the world. We had beer and pretzels in Germany and pastries in France. YUM!

Our ADR for dinner was at Marrakesh. We wanted to try something we weren't sure we could find at home, so I figured this would do it. I had the beef shish-ka-bobs. DH had the lamb. It was excellent. DH liked mine better than his, but he still loved his lamb. Mine had good spices on it. Even the rice was tasty. The bellydancer and musicians were really neat. This place is rather crowded though. I wouldn't use it for a romantic dinner. When there are only 2 of you, they sit you right on top of other people. Oh and the mint tea was really good. AND I almost forgot we got an appetizer. We split the chicken bastilla. It was different, but we liked it. It had a strong cinnamon flavor.

Day 4 - We went back to MGM where we won the Dream FastPasses. Yay! So we did all we wanted to w/in 2 hours. Then we went back to Pop for a nap. We decided to just stay there to eat lunch in the Pop Food Court. We both got the Chicken Penne Alfredo. It came with breaded chicken over penne with alfredo sauce. And a breadstick. We must have been starving b/c we inhaled it. I thought it was really quite good for a food court. Then we split a piece of the tie-dyed cheesecake. Wow! It was cheesecake on the top and red velvet cake on the bottom. Delicious!

This was the day we hit 3 parks, yet somehow still took a nap! So we went to AK and rode EE and Safari. Then we hit the Lodge for dinner at Boma! I wasn't sure what to expect here, but I knew it got great reviews. We were NOT disappointed. It was amazing. The hummus - yum. The soup - yum. The prime rib - yum. The zebra domes - yum. This was probably one of my favorites of the week. After this we hit MK for EMH.

Day 5 - Went back to MK. DH was in the mood for fried fish, so we hit Columbia Harbor House for lunch. He got the basket of fish and chicken w/fries. I got the tuna salad sandwich w/chips. I LOVED the sandwich. It really hit the spot. DH liked his too. I debated getting mine with the soup, but I just got the sandwich.

For dinner we had an ADR at California Grill. I have been wanting to try this place forever. We arrived early, yet they sat us right away. We were in a back room overlooking the water, but it was very private and romantic. We started with a plate of sushi. It was yummy. I got the pork tenderloin and DH got the filet. Wow! We both were in love with our meals. It was SO good. This is a really classy place, yet still fun. We were too early to watch the fireworks, but that was okay b/c we'd already seen them.

Day 6 - Back to Animal Kingdom. For lunch, DH was in the mood for Asian. So we hit the Yak & Yeti Counter Service. I had the mandarin orange salad w/chicken. DH had fried rice with honey chicken. We also got eggrolls. It was REALLY good. Hot and fresh. It hit the spot. DH's came in a big Chinese box. Later I got a Mickey ice cream bar from a cart. You can't go to WDW and NOT have one of those, right?!

We wanted to go back to DTD to buy some souvenirs. Plus we had a $15 certificate from AAA for Planet Hollywood. Had we not had the certificate, I doubt we would have gone there. And they must be hurting for business b/c the first thing our waitress asked was if we had a coupon or voucher. Apparently they give out lots of them? I don't like how they try to sell you a photo of yourself while you are eating. Our photo was awful and the guy looked shocked when I told him we weren't interested. We split the nacho appetizer. It was really good. Then we both had cheeseburgers. It was good. We enjoyed looking at all the memorabilia around the place, but we pretty much got in, ate and got out. And then we somehow wound back up at Goofy's Candy Shop where I got more chocolate marshmallows!

Day 7 - Time to hit the road for home. :guilty: But we had one more day on our hoppers, so we headed back to Epcot to ride Soarin' again. We ate lunch at the Cantina de San Angel in Mexico. We both got the Combination platter. It was okay. Not exactly great Mexican, but better than Taco Bell. The birds were annoying. They kept staring at us. I was kind of scared they might attack us for our food. Oh and the girl at the counter didn't know what tap water was. She kept trying to ring up bottled water. It was pretty funny.

That's it! All in all, we ate really well. There wasn't anything that was horrible and we had some great meals. We had high expectations for some places and they totally delivered. I think our food budget went over what DH was anticipating. But we enjoyed it!

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

I keep reading about this tuna sandwich and I need to get one. Tuna is my Batcheloreete dinner a few nights a week and I will never tire of it. Thanks for the review.

You happened to include THREE of the places I'm thinking about trying for the first time for our upcoming adults-only trip in October. I'm really torn between Marrakesh and Boma for dinner. I'd also love to try California Grill for a romantic dinner for our anniversary. I'm just not THAT adventurous when it comes to food, but your reviews of the dishes you had seem like choices I would make. Decisions, decisions!
