We will be dealing w/ whole stroller issue, so my question is:

Which do you think is cheaper, staying at POP with a rental car (which we will need on day 6 of trip anyway as we will be going to visit friends in St. Pete) or staying at monorail hotel & only renting car when we leave WDW & head for St. Pete?

I know convenience-wise the monorail resort would be easier, but for right now I am only thinking in terms of saving $$.

Our trip will be last week of September...

Thanks!

If you are trying to save money, stay at POP. We LOVEd POP, and had no problem getting the stroller (and we had a double) on and off the buses, POP has great transportation. I wouldn't spend all of that money just for the monorail especially if your going to MGM and AK anyway. We used our rental car only to get to a character breakfast one morning and for DTD.

I would price it both ways and see what you feel comfortable spending. For us, we like having the monorail right there. It makes things so much easier, especially since we spend most of our time at the Magic Kingdom. We may look at another resort when we don't have the kids along, but for now we stay on the monorail.
I would probably skip the rental even if we stayed at Pop, parking can be such a nightmare and eat up just as much time as taking a bus.

We rented a car and did not use it-just to and from the airport. Now Disney has free transportation from the airport, so a rental car was not necessary. The bus transportation from Pop was great-never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus. We had no problems with the stroller. Good luck

Have you maybe considered the Wilderness Lodge? It's not a monorail resort, but they have a boat to/from the MK and you can wheel the stroller right on. We stayed at the All Star in 03, and although the bus transportation was great, I think it would be a pain with a baby and stroller. The WL is good location and less expensive than the other deluxe resorts. Just a thought...

We've never stayed at a monorail resort but have rented a car several times and I've never paid more than $15/day (through Priceline). I'm pretty nigh positive that the monorail resorts will be a whole lot more that $15/night more than Pop.

PS If you do find a monorail resort that cheap please, please, please PM me!!!
