I NEED a Disney trip, and soon. We got spoiled by the WL in December on our honeymoon, but I will stay value if it means going back!!! We're looking to go back for our anniversary in Dec., just trying to decide between POP and ASMovies. I've stayed at Pop before, it was great, but I know Movies is more Disney themed. Just worry about the busses since they share w/the other allstars, and its just older.

Any opinions? Advice?

I've stayed at AS Movies before and I hated it. It kind of killed the All Stars for me as a whole and I don't think I'll ever stay at an All Star again. However, we've stayed at Pop 3 times and I wouldn't mind going back.
IMHO, the bus sharing at the All Stars was a huge disadvantage because AS Movies is the last resort that they pick up at and so we were ALWAYS standing. :sad2:

I was leaning towards POP, thanks. I thought Movies would give us more of that "Disney feel", but from asking around, the concensus is POP. I haven't officially booked yet but I think I've pretty much made up my mind! Now if only I could get a code or discount!

The food court is less conjested at POP also and they have a larger gift shop and also an indoor lounge.

I've stayed at both and like them both, but I prefer ASMo. I guess it all depends on what time of year you are planning your trip. I've never stood on the bus on the way to the parks. Never had any issue with the bus at all at ASMo. I went to POP at busier time of year and had to stand on the bus on the way to the parks several times. If you return to the resort at park close, somebody is always standing. I like the selection of food better at the ASMo food court. As far as the food court being crowded - that too depends on the time of year and time of day. If you like the Disney movie theme I would go with ASMo, but they are both just fine.

Oh and the plumbing is noisier at POP. That's not just an urban legend. You can hear all the showers and toliets flushing above you. Didn't bother me, but if you're a light sleeper, it might wake you up.

Stayed at Pop in Feb/ early March and could'nt STAND the amount of noise at POP. I am a light sleeper and booked a preferred room (probably my first mistake) You could hear EVERYTHING in the rooms next to you. One night I was trying to sleep and someone was taking a bath and it sounded I was in the tub it was that loud! The walls are so thin and the only thing I found to cut down on the noise was to close the bathroom door. I slept very poorly while I was there. It was my first stay in a value and I much prefer the Mods. The bus situation was'nt the greatest either. I stood more than I sat and it took forever to get to MK and DTD. I'm not sure if all stars is any better but have not heard nearly as many complaints about the noise as at POP.
Have a great trip!:goodvibes

I've stayed at both and liked both. POP does have a bigger gift shop, less congested food court, but I honestly thought the ASMo had better bus service--more frequent, less crowded, and practically no bus sharing. I stayed at all star sports, too. same experience. I really thought the atmosphere at movies was the most disney-fied, but POP was cute. Next trip to a value--I will probably go with Movies. Good luck with your decision. You can't hardly go wrong with either.
Oh, one more thing. I paid the extra for a preferred room at POP and Movies
and I am so glad I did. I got a standard room at sports and regretted. YMMV

I'm not sure if all stars is any better but have not heard nearly as many complaints about the noise as at POP.

I know some people have complained about rowdy kids at the All Stars and at POP. I've never had a problem with that at either resort. I've stayed at ASMo 6 times (# 7 in May - YAY) and never heard any noise from other rooms. I think the older construction is better insulated for noise.

I just changed our reservation from the Movies to Pop Century specifically because of the bus situation. The Movies would be the last stop getting on and off the bus and I'll have two solo days without a car and didn't want to have to deal with that. Pop Century has a direct bus to the parks. Other than that, we were happy with Movies and just a bit happier with Pop Century.
