As a note to other swappers we returned from Disney 2 days ago using this fridge and it worked great. Other than the freezer door being broken (already mentioned in here) it's in perfect condition.

We're going to Disney Saturday and using the fridge. Do you have any idea what is wrong with the freezer door? We may be able to take the right parts along and try to fix it, if possible.

Apennel sent me a PM about the door the other day...I wish I had taken a picture of it now. She is going to try to fix it while down there as well.

If you look at the picture above as being the freezer door the part from the left top corner to the slash has chipped off no longer allowing the door to be secured to the freezer. We slightly tucked the broken side into the freezer to balance the door doing this made the freezer useable.

Hopefully the tacky drawing will help you picture what's wrong with it!

That said, the condition of the box was mentioned. People, if the box is done, so is the swap. I wont be able to bring a box or send one, or whatnot. I am going to duct tape the heck out of it when I go down. But please, dont bend it, dont fold it.

If my swapper cannot fix the door I will have my hubby attempt the good old duct tape fix.

The box is definately not done but it's definately wearing in spots...some tape would make the weaker areas stronger and would definately greatly prolong the life of the box. If anyone can completely wrap the box in packing tape that would be really helpful. If we had some tape with us we definately would have done this. We took the box and put it on top of the shelf that is by the sink. It fits up there with lots of space to spare and is then completely out of the way.

Hey guys, just got back this morning... we had a great trip. The fridge worked great, the box was in rough condition but still ok. I had a new roll of packing tape with me so we used it up trying to fill some of the holes in the box and sure up the corners and bottom a bit. It will still need some help though so if anyone else can bring some good sturdy tape it will be a help.

Thanks to Tiggs14 for leaving the fridge clearly marked so it was easy for luggage services to find. I did the same, labeling it on 5 sides with printouts from my computer so the writing was easy to read and bold. I would recommend others doing this too, lucky for us this fridge is still in circulation but I noticed that some had just written a name in pen on the top of the box. No harm in the past but it can easily get lost this way. I just printed up the guest name, arrival date and their reservation number on a sheet of paper and copied it 5 times. Others can just tape theirs over mine with no problem

I also left a baggie with some wipes attached to the fridge as well.

are you taking Jan dates? I'm going to be at Pop from Fri jan 8 - 15 I keep getting the dates wrong! I have a cold and am not thinking clearly - clearly!!

Its Friday Jan 8 - Friday Jan 14 (there are 7 days in a week, not 5! )

(I was in the Nemo swap in Oct - so I understand how important cleaning, and making the connections - as well as getting it ready for the next swapper - printing out 5 sheets is a great idea!)
