jpessa is right, just link your reservation with MDE and you should be able to set it up. I book through CAA all the time good choice, the little discount perks come in handy.

They will have your bands at the POP waiting for you.

Ill have to check this tomorrow. Is there a place where I request bands? Do you have a link to the site. Thanks so much. CM I spoke to on the phone told me they didn't have my reservation since I booked with TA which I couldn't understand.

Ignore my last post. I figured it out. I think I'll get my bands upon arrival since I'm 8 days out. Wish I would have known sooner so I could have customized a colour. Still happy as a clam to try this new technology out.

We got a 8:15 am breakfast ADR for 1900 Park Fare. Now I'm wondering if it is even possible to get there from POP via bus. How early does the bus start their day? Thanks.

On the FAQ's on another site they say that the MB's are supposed to be sent world wide and also that they come in Purple....

"Colors available will include: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink, Orange, Gray, Purple.
The bands will be shipped worldwide to the guest within 30 to 10 days of arrival."

So maybe purple will be included in the full rollout?..

:confused3

I was told on the phone by a CM that the bands will not be shipped to Germany, they will have our bands at Check-In.

But I guess she was wrong and we will get the grey ones instead of our customized ones. I am looking forward for testing the whole matter :)

Why do you think you won't get your customized bands? We are from Canada and our customized bands were waiting for us at the resort.

that is good to hear :):)

when she told me that we get them at the resort her voice started to have a rather uncertain tone

for me this sounded like:
"as faaaar as I know you will get them at the resort...but...I am not sure at all"

But now there is some hope to get ours instead of the grey ones :thumbsup2

Phone CMs don't work in the parks and usually don't know anything their computer screen isn't telling them, so she probably wasn't sure.

If you customized then on the site then you should get them. I think until 5 days out (guessing... I read that somewhere I think). They won't even ship them to Canada, so no they don't ship internationally... Yet.

A friend just got to Pop, she said no fridge, no credit. Not sure which section she is staying at, but I know she did request the 50s section.

ETA: she is staying in the 50s, building 1

Would love recommendations for non-preferred rooms at Pop. We have generally requested the 50's sections lakeview but wonder if there are better options. I would like to close to the parking lot and bus stops. I was wondering if building 9 would be a better choice or if building 1 would be. I do have a 9 year old and didn't know if the computer pool was as fun as the bowling pin pool. Thanks!

We booked our trip for Sept 29th - Oct 7th. This is our first time staying at POP. We were going to do AOA and stay in the LM room but opted for POP so we could get the free dinning offer. We also booked a preferred room.

Can someone please explain the big deal with the MB's? Is it just that you can set up fastpass ahead of time and use them as a room key/charge? I have a special needs daughter so the fastpass isn't pertinent to us, so other than that I am not understanding the appeal, especially to the point that people are switching to POP to get it. If its something great I would get it, just not understanding why its great?

It is the new technology that is testing but will soon roll out to all resorts. Booking fast pass ahead of time is the biggest appeal but also being able to have the band for park entry, payment, room entry etc are all pluses. Many people just don't want to feel left out.

Also since you mentioned your child with special needs the fast pass + might be worth it if you haven't been in a while because all rumors point to GAC policy's changing in the coming months. Most recent rumor was October 1 is when the switch would happen.

As answered above, buses start early. You can take the MK bus from Pop and then use the resort monorail to get to GF.

I like building 1 and so I recommend it for standard rooms. :goodvibes

Can you please advise what the rumors are/ links to the discussion about the GAC pass changing?

EDIT: found a link discussing it, what is RFID, it mentions it? Don't know whether these changes would create problems or not, we found it very slow trying to get through the people with the wheel chair and our other 3 kids, so if they told us to come back a half an hour later, I could see us walking a few steps and then turning around to be back in time, lol.

Here is the posted sticky about the rumors

Many people believe that Disney will be going to a system kind of like the one in place at Universal. Instead of gaining automatic admission into the ride through the fastpass line you will be given a pass with a return window equal to the current posted wait time. That way you can wait somewhere else or perhaps go on a ride with a shorter wait and they return to ride the ride. Once again it is just rumor but also people are reporting that it is not unheard of for this to happen on more busy attractions and days right now.

There are also reports that some attractions have been cracking down on allowing people through the fastpass line. It will depend on you issued GAC. Also now for stamina issues it is becoming less common to be issued a GAC. Many reports say that they were told to acquire a wheelchair or ECV for stamina issues so it will really depend on why you need the GAC and when you are going on if you might see changes.

Just as a note there have been many different reports right now so plan for the CM at guest relations and at attractions to follow the written policy (unfortunately it is not written anywhere for public eyes) so a good travel plan and even FP+ can be used to an advantage and if the GAC hasn't changed when you get there then you can use it as you always have.

We always stay in the 90's Section non-preferred.. Its our little secret. The Buses and Main Hall are just a walk across the parking lot. Last year we could step outside our room and see the buses. The computer pool is right there. We always request a ground floor in the 90's.

We requested the 70's section, (I had to request it again at check in b/c I was assigned a diff section) and got building 6 with the big bike. Room was on the 4th floor but next time I'd see if I can get ground level for convenience. This building is close to the bus stops for the parks. Also, for us it felt like the 90's parking lot was closest to our section of the 70's. It is also not very far from the main area, "Classic Hall". The 70's section doesn't have a pool- that was important to us b/c the pool areas are very loud and we need quiet for our kids when they take naps or at night.
