I think that is a great idea ::yes:: It would fit in great with the theming if they had a 50's type diner style counter - like the kinds at the old fashioned drug stores or general stores that made soda pops, milkshakes and malts. A counter clerk on roller skates would really add to the ambience popcorn::

Maybe an old fashioned candy store like in Willy Wanka?? I'm always down for some candy ;)

I LOVE candy. My favorite candy at Disney would have to be the salt water taffy. I could eat it until I get sick, at least 2 large bags the week we are there, lol! YUMMY!

Okay, so I should go ahead and send a suggestion to Disney!!

Oh and talking about candy ... a candy store MUST include those melt in your mouth ... POP ROCKS Candy :banana:

How fitting is that?? :cool1:

lol I like the POP rocks, haha!:thumbsup2

Does Disney just mail if you have a package? We are staying at Pop June 8-16 and have room only reservation. I was wondering if they mail some sort of comfirmation before this time?

No, if you have a room only, you don't get anything. You could call and ask them to send you a receipt, I got one sent, because they don't show my reservation online and I want proof that I have one when I get there.

we will be half way to Disney by this time tomorrow...we will get up at three am and leave the house at quarter of four ...pick up our daughter (rem her husband is Disney challenged)..and then off to the airport...we will meet our son and dil and two munchkins there and board our plane for the Happiest place in Florida...

with the cold snap here in maine...I am sooooo ready to warm up...I read the ten day forecast and it is going to be in the high 80s and 90s while we are there...YES YES YES..

so see you when I return...I do not do computers while we are gone...relax and enjoy ...

Have a wonderful trip and safe travels!

Good morning all!!! So happy to read (yes I am addicted too) that Pop has COKE!!! HUGE DIET COKE FAN HERE!!!

OFF THE TOPIC: But has anyone ever received 2 batches of "Mikey Mail"? I have and just wondered which one would be good to do the redemption for the arcade or should I just bring both booklets with me??
.
That happened to us one year I only brought one. But my girls weren't into the arcade then. Last year they discovered it and love it.. DH gave them the money for that one.

Do you think it matters?? I am assuming once they validate the bar code for the redemption, the others would be invalid???

Not sure where to find the answer to this, but which section is the Preferred and Preferred Pool View?

So, I just got a call from Disney Guest Relations. I had sent them an email last week asking about the pool hours at AOA and if the guests at AOA would still be able to swim after the posted pool hours. I was curious because staying at Pop, I didn't want to see any AOA guests in Pop's pools if we couldn't use theirs. I wanted to know if any of the AOA pools would be open after hours for their gutests or if Pop was going to see some late night swimmers venturing over from AOA.

She was very nice. She informed me that even though AOA has posted pool hours, that the guests at AOA will still be able to swim in their big blue pool after hours. She basically said it would be the same type of set up as Pop, you can swim after hours, just no life guard on duty. Then of course I got the whole pool hopping speech, that guests from either resort will NOT be able to use the other resorts pools, which of course I already knew. :thumbsup2

I just wanted to pass the info along. I was surprised I got a call instead of an email me back. She was very nice and very informative. :goodvibes

Here is a link: http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/...read/PopCenturyMap2012RoomCategoriesFINAL.jpg

This is near the beginning of this thread. Lots of useful information there, so if you haven't had a chance to read through the beginning of this thread, it is worth the time.

We have stayed at pop many times, and possibly been in preferred, but I don't really remember noticing which was which. I'll check it out to refresh my memory.

Hi PrincessSuzanne: :goodvibes I see that Sandi provided you with the link to the 2012 map on page one of this FAQ thread :thumbsup2

As you probably are aware, the pref pool view is one of two new booking categories for 2012. Essentially the pref pool views are located in the 60s, and the preferred views are located in selected areas in the 50s, 60s & 70s as last year.

:)

Stacy: It's nice to hear that Disney is responsive to our questions and concerns. Happy that you rec'd a prompt reply (although I'm sure you wished she stopped at that and didn't include the pool hopping speech ).

Thanks for the reminder. I totally forgot about the new categories for 2012. I want a preferred pool view. I have to call RIGHT NOW! I only have preferred. I hope it's still available for our dates!

Edit: BOO. No pool preferred for our dates. There is pool preferred if you are NOT on free dining though. WHATEVER! I'll keep trying. As long as we are preferred 60s, I guess it doesn't matter. Who am I kidding, yes it does. I want a pool view, lol!!

Thank you, I knew they had new booking categories, and honestly, I can't remember which mine is, except that it is preferred, so I didn't know what was where.

We just got back from Pop this past Sunday and had a great time. We stayed in the 50's section which was farthest away from the main lobby and transportation. I would definately see if you can stay closer as it was quite a walk.

How far is "quite a walk"? I live in a rural area, and I am trying to figure out if my family will be fine staying on the outskirts of the resort.

You're both welcome!! :goodvibes And Stacy, keep trying, you know as well as all seasoned DISers, that resort changes occur daily. :hippie:

Janet, I wish we weren't missing each other. It would be cool to say hi in person ;)

I'll keep checking. Fingers are crossed. I'm due for some pixie dust...
