Pop Century to other resorts......

for dining.......Transfer at MGM or Epcot? Our first stay at Pop and need to know the best way to AKL and the Poly for dining. Thank you

We are wondering the same thing for our trip in late September. We will need to travel from the Pop Century to:

1) Boardwalk (Spoodles Dinner)
2) Animal Kingdom Lodge (Boma Dinner)
3) Polynesian (O'Hana Dinner)
4) Fort Wilderness (Trails End Lunch - for nostalgia reasons)

We are considering renting a car for the 8 days we are there, but do not want to spend $160 for a rental car if it is really not necessary and Disney transportation/taxis will be efficient and in the end cheaper. However, I am willing to spend the money on a rental if in the end it will likely make getting around easier.

If it were me, I would take a bus from Pop to either DTD or a park and transfer from there.

If you plan to dine at AK...

A bus to AK, then a bus to AKL.

Spoodles... a bus to Epcot and bus to Boardwalk (or use international gateway)

Poly... bus to Epcot, Monorail to TTC, Monorail to Poly (or walk from TTC)

Personally, I'm a car renter. The buses from Pop to DTD are always reported to be quite slow. With a car, you can get from any spot in WDW to the next in about 7-10 minutes. Maybe I have ADD... but I love not spending all my time on transportation.

Let's see......POP to AKL....take the POP bus to AK, then hop on the AKL bus.

POP to BW....POP bus to MGM, either walk via the pathway, or take the boat...about 10-15 either way, and quite pleasant. Unless you have a hopper, you will waste a day of park admission going through Epcot and it is a very long walk from the front of the park to IG. There are no buses from Epcot or MGM to BW.

POP to Polynesian...POP bus to MK then either the little boat that runs between the MK, GF and Polynsian, or the resort monorail.

POP to FtW....again, bus to MK then walk (via path) to CR and take the little boat from there, or just take the boat directly from the front of MK that runs to FtW.

Leave about an hour to accomplish most of these routes. If you make the 'getting there' part of the fun, it's really enjoyable!!

Our dinner reservation at Boma is at 8 PM, so I would imagine we will just use a taxi for our ride back to Pop from AKL when we eat at Boma... One taxi ride or two vs. $160 for a car rental is not such a bad tradeoff...

We are transportation people.

Just check on which parks are open late that night...then head there. Then hop on the POP bus.
