I'm helping some clients of mine plan their trip and 2 of the adults are deaf. Are there special rooms at Pop Century? Any other helpful tips? Thanks in advance!
There are at all resorts (required by the ADA).
The rooms for people with hearing disabilities include:
- a doorbell at the room door that rings a buzzer and also triggers lights to alert someone who can't hear hat someone is at the door
- fire alarms that trigger a loud alarm and also a visual alert (strobe lights) in each room
- a telephone that triggers lights when it rings. They also have TTY devices available
- I have not seen, but heard they may have bed shakers or other alarm clock alternatives available
If they need sign language interpretation at any of the parks, there are regularly scheduled days and times for each park.
Schedules are available at Guest Relations that list specific interpreted show times for all Walt Disney World Theme Parks.
For future visits to request confirmation of interpreted performance schedule OR to request interpretation for other special events and shows, call a minimum of 14 days in advance at 407-824-4321 [voice] or 407-827-5141 [TTY].
