POP Century Recommendations?

Just wondering if anyone could shine some light on a good location at POP that is very close to the bus stops and lobby?

You are best to look at a map of the resort. The preferred rooms are closest and are $10/nt more. Well worth it in my opinion. The 60s near the Happy Dippy Pool are very centraol to everything.

We were in the 70s building 10 (with the Big Wheel out front). We were on the 3rd floor on the end right next to the stairway with the giant 8-track tape. This was a preferred room and, in my opinion, was the perfect location. We could stand in front of our door and see Classic Hall and it was a very short walk to get there. It was also a very quick walk to the Hippy Dippy pool (which is right behind Classic Hall).

I kind of felt sorry for the people whose doors and windows faced the pool. I sat out there one night until almost midnight waiting for my laundry to dry. There were people in the pool and running around making a lot of noise. I figured it couldn't have been very quiet for the people in those rooms. That's why I would be sure to ask for a room away from the pool if I stayed there again.

We were in the 70's building 6 3rd floor on the part that sticks out the back. We faced the water. Although this location is not really close to Classic hall, the walk isn't bad at all. Really, the resort is much smaller when you're there than it looks on paper!

ETA: Our building was across from the big wheel one mentioned above. I don't think any of it is preferred.

If being close to the main building is important, note that in your requests when you book your room.

We stayed in the 50's 4th floor (no noise from above) away from the pool looking over at Epcot. Also stayed in the 70's ground floor building 10 away from the pool. Both were good short walk to bus and pool as well as the food court. Slight preference for 50's as the view was nice and it had it's own pool. (the bowling pin)

I also have had to stay at Pop Century instead of All-Star Sports due to a conflict of dates. Pop was all that was left. I am weary because I have only heard a few good things. We love All-Star sports and movies. So where should we stay that is quiet and near the food-court. Any suggestions? And are the rooms still Disney themed or just era-themed? Are the buses better or worse that the All-Star? We just got the news two days ago that we would have to move to Pop so we are still excited but also a little weary of the place. Help out if possible.

I agree about the preferred rooms. Worth the $10 if location is important to you. Building 4 is convenient, as is building 10. I have stayed in both. My room in 4 (non-preferred) was a much nicer location than my room in building 10. You can get very convenient great locations without booking preferred, but it is not a sure thing.

We've stayed in Building 10, by the big wheel. It's pretty close to the front for the busses and the food court. I've also stayed in the 50's by the Tramp building, and liked that, buy felt I was closer to the busses and food court in the 70's. Pop is a fun resort. Have a great time!!

Wow, this is my first post. However, I spend hours reading other post and planning our trips. This is the first question I have felt passionate about. We had a Great Room when we were there.

We stayed in room 101, corner room. It was Awesome! This room is in the 70's, we were SO close to the classic hall and extremely close to the buses. The buses are to the left of classic hall and so are the 70's 80's and 90's.

There isn't really a pool out of our door so that cut down on the noise. We usually travel in December and being from the Gulf Coast, we are cold so we don't swim...the pool is not a concern. I loved the corner room. I have to say, one morning we heard some noise from the maid closet...it was the morning we slept in but it was like 10:30. We never heard anything and we were there during Pop Warner week

Since it's one night, I don't think it really should matter too much how close you are. I wouldn't pay for preferred for one night. The only way I would pay preffered is to be by the pool though. The 80's and 90's aren't super close to the food cart, but by cutting across the parking lot they ar pretty close to the bus stop. And not too far from the hall itself.

Be careful when you book a Preferred room @ POP as preferred room locations have changed. We booked a preferred room for our Anniversary & although what we got was considered "preferred" by Disney - it wasn't to us. We were on the back side of the building in the 60's with a view of absolutely nothing except the rest of the rooms. Quite a distance from the elevators and away from the food court & bus area. The maps that you can find are a bit misleading with the preferred locations & until you're there you really can't be sure where you're going. We'd asked for a specific location, plus a king size bed & got neither. An email to WDW CRO and a phone call from them cleared up alot of misconceptions I had as to a preferred room. This time we're switching to ASMu for our January mini-vacation because of many little things that happened in September & the fact that we want somewhere just a bit more quiet & relaxing! JMHO............

I agree that the 90's is a nice quiet spot! I was on the garden/parking lot side - first floor. It was dead quiet the whole week we were there. It was nothing to cut through the parking lot to grab a bus or hit up the food court for a frozen coke!

I would be a little careful walking through that parking lot at night though - several times it was pretty deserted.....
