Anyone try the Pizza at Pop Century? Is a large 16" Pizza always ready or do you have to wait for it? Is it tasty?

I think this might be a good option for my family when we return to the hotel for our lunch/swim/nap.

Also, how many credits would I be using on my DDP?

We're going to Pop in June so I've been reading everything I can find about it. I can't speak to the taste but as I understand it, you order 1 pizza and pick it up for 2 CS credits and you get 2 drinks and 2 desserts. If you get it delivered then 1 pizza is 2 TS credits and includes tip. I don't remember if drinks & desserts are included for delivery. We thought on our arrival day we would get two large pizzas to share before heading to a park. It works well for my family of 5 as dh and 3 teen sons can eat a lot of pizza and will love getting dessert too! I can definitely forgo a dessert or two.

We got 2 PoP pizza's on our last night in Sept, and they seemed pretty good to us!::goodvibes : I don't know if it was because we were at the end of our vacation, and really had had enough TS meals,or we were just hungry! We even saved some, and had it for breakfast at the airport the next morning!! So,I would have to say it's pretty good pizza!:thumbsup2

It should be the same as the personal sized ones. I thought the pizza tasted fine. I remember a lot of people were complaining that they changed the dough to whole wheat, but it tasted fine to me. I eat whole wheat bread so maybe that makes a difference.

It wasn't very hot when I ate it but I think that was because I waited longer than most people who order it. I would order my niece her lactose free pizza and then we would go and get mine and then wait for her pizza and then go through the check out line.

The large pizzas are made to order. They take about 15 mins to make. You can get two drinks two desserts and a 16 inch pizza for two counter service credits at Pop. If you order from room service it will cost you two table service meals from my understanding because these are not made on site. The pizza is not bad at Pop although it was better on our Sept 2008 trip than it was on our Dec 2008 trip. They did something to the sauce-it was spicer than we like and just tasted different all around.

We stayed at POP June 2008, my kids ate the small pizzas they had and seemed to like them.

Here is a photo of the pizza delivery van. It was cute and so tiny, I am sure it is a golf cart made to look this way because it is so little.

Enjoy!

Well I dont know about the pizza that you get right at the cafe in POP but the one you get delivered in yucky! I would never waste 2ts on delivery to start but definately not for the one we had when we were there. My kids get the personal one all the time and I think I have had a bite or two but cant remember. We will be there in July and plan on doing the 16" for myself dd and ds. DH will be on his own as he likes it loaded....lol.

I really enjoyed the pizza from the POP, actually some of the best pizza I've had.:thumbsup2

We had POP pizza twice last week, the boys loved it. The pizza took about 8 minutes to cook. That was great. You are sure to eat a hot fresh pizza, with baked to order. Sad part is I paid op for the first night, (I did not know I could use 2cs credits for the purchase).

This is probably a dumb question, but is it two adult CS credits? We will have DH, myself, ODS (4 and on the plan), and YDS (2 and free). One pizza would feed us all, so I love this idea, but we'll end up with a leftover child CS then, right?

Also, if we wanted to carry it back to our room, is it packaged in a pizza box or anything?

Sorry for the silly questions!

Actually that is a very good question we all just assume (well those of us that have not had it.....yet), that it is in a pizza box.

Hmmm, I don't think I've ever read any reports about how it comes. I would assume on a big, round tray with some paper plates. It never occured to me to take it back to the room since there is no table. I don't eat on beds - it's a thing of mine, lol.

We had the Pop Pizza in November. We weren't on the Dining Plan, so I'm not sure about the credit question, but it wasnt bad pizza. It's along the lines of Dominoes.

we had the 16 inch pizza at asmu in August and it came in a pizza box.We asked for 4 plates to eat it off of.We were on the dining plan and it was 2 cs credits and came with 2 drinks and we got 2 huge brownie sundaes to split. It was way worth it.Adult and child cs credits are not split up so you would just have 1 extra cs credit left, maybe just use it for a breakfast or lunch to share on your departure day.

It comes in a pizza box and you can take it back to your room. We did this on our last trip twice. They charge 2 adult counter service credits for it. So if you have kids you will not use any credits for them unless they want a drink or dessert than you can use snack credits for those if you choose. If you choose to get ice cream as a dessert you can get your receipt stamped and come back for it within two hours of paying. They will ask you how many paper plates you need as well.

Not sure how the counter service credits work for kids but table service are def. split up. I had assumed it would be the same for the counter service as well. Since the dining plan info says must order off from the children's menu. Even at the counter service locations they have children's meals so I assumed you would have to use their credits for a childs meal.

This is sounding better and better.

Incidentally, I noticed your countdown. You're leaving WDW on Christmas eve???? Wow, that will probably be reallllllly hard and sad. We spent xmas 2004 (12/19-12/28) in Disney and it was absolutely awesome!

We found it to be a good deal. We would get two pizzas, two celery/carrot sticks, two apples and dips and four milks for four cs credits. You can also order breadsticks on the side as a snack credit.
