I have already booked pop century 8/19-8/27. After looking at the moderate resorts, I am considering switching to POFQ. From what I have read it seems a bit smaller and has pool with slide, which my dd9 would enjoy. I would appreciate any advice from anyone who had stayed there. Is it worth the extra $$. Its only about 400.00 dollars more, and it just seems quieter and more serene.

I stayed with my family at POFQ for the first time in Oct.We had only stayed at the AS resorts prior to this.We LOVED it.It was quiet, well themed, well laid out and the pool was a big hit- especially the slide. The rooms were bigger and more comfortable than we were used to.Having a fridge for no charge was a plus. The week was very enjoyable. We honestly enjoyed it more than the AKL which we had splurged to spend a few nights at the end of our trip.
I just came back from POP last week.We were there for 4 nights.I hated the place. It was loud-louder than anywhere we had ever stayed. We were on the 3rd floor-overlooking the computer pool.Which is supposed to be the quiet one.Well it was anything but-screaming,running,music blaring, marco polo games at 3am-I'm not kidding-it never ended. It can't all be blamed on kids/teens either.Everyone playing marco polo at 3 am were adults.I know I've read that the AS are loud because of kids/families but that was never an issue for us.We were totally unprepared for the noise level.So--on our future stays-we will be spending the few extra $$ and staying at POFQ.

I stayed at Pop this past Easter but we went to POFQ to see it. THe first thing I said, as I got off the bus, was "It's so quiet". I loved Pop it was very clean but I thought that it was loud also. I plan on staying at POFQ when we go back in Feb.

Thank you, Thank You, ddlgwar & marypopfan. :flower: You have just made my day. I went ahead and changed my ressies to POFQ. We have been to disney several times, and have stayed at the asm and asp and cbr and enjoyed are stays at those resorts as well. I think this trip we want to relax more and really just enjoy disney without the commando style vacations we have done in the past. POFQ seems to me to be the better resort for this type of vacation. :cool1: . Thank you both for your responses, they really helped. :sunny:

I laughed when I read your post. My DD8 and I stayed at the POP last August and I found it a bit loud especially at night. The Hippy Dippy pool was fun but crowded! My daughter loved the icons and I thought the theming was fun too. We are going again this August and I booked the POFQ after reading all the lovely reviews about it. I think you made the right choice, at least I hope we both did!!!
This is only our second trip and I think we will really like the POFQ. Let us know how is goes! :flower:

Haven't stayed at POP, but LOVED POFQ! It is Quaint, yet exciting, fun and convenient. You can't go wrong!

Thanks Briarberry :flower: We will be there 8/19-8/27. Can't wait   Just booked my first ps today for LeCeller. I am going to try for CRT tomorrow morning(sunday) at 7:OO. Cannot believe I am getting up that early on sunday, but my dd9 and dd13 really want to go there. We did go awhile back and it was very nice. I will let you know when I return how it is, if you are not already there or have already returned. What are your dates? Thank Again all for all the great advice. :cheer2: :cheer2:

We've stayed at ASM, not POP. Once we went to POFQ, we can't go back to Value resorts!!! ASM seemed very spread out, loud and crowded. We love POFQ! It is newly redone with fridges in the rooms. Our ds and dd love the water slide. We love taking the boat to DD and back and forth between POFQ and POR. You can use each other's dining and pool options. After a long day at the park, no matter where your room is, it's not more than a few minutes walk back to your room. Our only time that felt crowded at POFQ (in two trips there) was on Christmas eve last year, when it seemed to fill up. I imagine no matter what resort we would have been at, that it would have been packed.

I can't afford anything but a value resort. However, with that being said my stay at POP was wonderful during the spring break season. My friend and I enjoyed a great room overlooking the lake! We really enjoyed POP! :)
