My family of 2 adults and 4 kids are in the process of planning our next WDW trip for this September and I need a little help. I can't decide between getting two rooms at POP (which we love!) or getting a cabin at Ft. Wilderess. My sister and I have taken the kids before with two rooms at Pop and it worked out well. I have never stayed at Ft. Wilderness so I'm pretty much clueless about it and which would be better. What do you all think???? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

Hmm....I can see both sides. If you would use the kitchen to save $ on food, I'd go with the cabin. If a regular room set-up would work, then go with 2 rooms at Pop. I'm thinking I've read that the buses around FW can be confusing, is that an issue? Will you need to rent a golf cart?

I'm going to throw another thing out there, what about the Family Suites at ASMusic?

Stayed at both..........but it depends.....
1) What price would you pay for cabin ? it could be much more than 2 rooms.
2) Do you plan to cook meals ? and can you give up food court ? To me the plus of the cabin is the kitchen. Spent a week there and cooked all week.
3) Do you plan to spend alot of time in room ? meaning would sofa/chairs be a real plus for you.
4) Would you benefit from 2 bathrooms with two rooms ?
5) Will you have a car ? Transport from campground to AK, EPCOT & DS can be tedious. Golf carts are expensive and not sure your whole family could fit in one.
6) Do you understand campground is large with internal bus and you can not drive your car in campground to get anywhere ?
7) Are you interested in pools as part of the fun ? campgrounds are bare bones basic.

While we loved the cabin itself and it's cute decor, I did not enjoy being in a campground with nothing close by. When I go to Disney I like the pool, foodcourt, and the energy that comes with a resort. Now I would go back to cabins if (1) good rate (2) plan to cook alot (3) winter where the pool etc is not important.

I agree with everything HopperFan said.:thumbsup2

Just to add...
You may have seen these in your decision making, but will post them just in case.

FW map to give you an idea of size.
I think most of the cabins are in the 2200-2800 block, but may be wrong.

A bit of cabin info.

FW campers link with info about the campgrounds...

Someone on these boards has a cabin layout link, but cant find mine now.
Try a search or the camping thread for clues, as it is here somewhere.
Search never works for me.
Can anyone help?

We have not stayed at POP so cant comment.
The FW cabins were very nice, but the campground is HUGE.
Xmas time is neat, as lots of RVs are decorated, and I MEAN DECORATED! (but you are going in Sept. so...)
Golf cart is very handy, but @$48/day. We rented for 1 day just to cruise all the xmas lights at night.
The bus service can be confusing the first few days, but it is handy and runs frequently.
Some things to do but really spread out.

Good luck on your decision!

Thank you all SO MUCH for all of the great info! :thumbsup2 This wll definately help me with my decision. :goodvibes
