Pop Century - National Car Location

We will be staying at the Pop Century in December. We want to rent a car while there. I know you can rent a car at the Car Care Center, but I thought I read somewhere that you can also rent a car at the Dolphin? Which of these two locations is closer to our resort?

I rented through Alamo at the Dolphin last month. I figured we could just head over to Epcot for that day, walk over to the Dolphin, complete the paperwork, get keys and head back to Epcot. When IllumiNations was done, we walked back to the Dolphin, gave our car keys to the valet, who then drove the car around front for us. Then out of the Dolphin parking lot, took a left, at the lights take a left, then I believe it's 2 lights on the right to Victory Dr., then POP on the left. Incredibly easy!!! You can do the same with National.

Tks for that tip. I suppose I need to give more info about our plans. We arrive in Orlando around 2:30ish. We'll take the ME to the resort. We would then like to pick up the car and head to the premier outlets and then on to Downtown Disney. We have breakfast ressies the following morning at Chef Mickey's. So based on this additional info, does anyone have any suggestions?

We usually rent from Dolphin.. However keep in mind that they close at 4pm.

Car Care Center. There's a free National/Alamo shuttle that picks up (and drops off) at the various Disney resorts. I don't know if it's an automatic loop or if you have to call and request a pickup - but that'll be easier than taking a bus from Pop to a park or Downtown Disney, then another bus (or boat, if you went to MGM, or impossible without first entering Epcot if you went to Epcot) to the Dolphin.
Or, given Goofy4tink's description of the return route, it's probably worth your time to take a cab from Pop to the Dolphin.

Excellent point...I like the idea of a cab to the Dolphin from POP...good idea!!!

Either take a cab from Pop Century to the Dolphin, or take a WDW bus to MGM Studios and take the boat from there to the S/D stop. A cab would take less time.

Save yourself a couple bucks and have the shuttle come pick you up, it shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes from Pop! to either the car care center or the dolphin. You can call the front desk at Pop! or the information button from the phone in your room and ask for the number or see if they will connect you. National will schedule a pickup - if the shuttle isn't out, they can usually come over very quickly. Easy peasy Why not pick up/drop off the car from the airport?

Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply. I have nationwide cell coverage, so I'll just call when we arrive and set up a pick up time. The reason we are using the CCC is because we have ressies with DME for travel from and to MCO.

Just be aware that The Dolphin doesn't have a shuttle service, but we liked the ease of renting there and that it was so close to POP. You could just take the bus, at your leisure to MGM, and then the boat (or walk) to the Dolphin. Can you tell I'm a huge proponant of using the Dolphin??!!
