POP CENTURY ... LAST WEEK of SEPT. 07 MEET

Good morning ladies~Quick hello while Hunter is occupied with his toys. I can't believe that some of you are leaving next week!!!

I was going to place a gardengrocer order at the end of this week. Let me know if you think we need any specific snacks/drinks.

I've been trying to pack the past couple days too. Does anyone have any advice for packing with a almost 1 yr. old? I'm trying to put all of his outfits in ziplock bags so that it makes it easier each morning to just grab a bag & know that he has a full outfit there. I've never had to put this much thinking into packing for a trip before, but I want to make sure I don't forget anything, for Hunter's sake.

Have a great day!!! :)

I have taken a 10 mo and a 1 yo. This time it will be a 16 mo. Our oldest "youngest" to go. LOL

The ziploc thing works great. I would put a change of outfit in a zip bag in yor park bag (backpack, diaper bag, whatever. I like back packs.)
That way if there is a mess of some sort, you can zip it up and take it back to the hotel and wash it out.

I also pack diapers in gal. ziplocs, as you can flatten them and push all the air out and they take up much less room in your back pack. wipes that way too.

I like the pampers disposable bibs. They don't take up much room. The disposable sippy cups are nice too.

Don't forget a small tylenol or advil for the bag. Teething or what not.

Some toys.

If he prefers his blankets and you can bring them, do it.
If you are bringing your own stroller you could bring those links to keep toys from getting tossed out.

I LOVED using my sling on busses, in ride lines, etc. Wherever you can't take the stroller. (Into The Land, for example.) I bet it would be great at the airport also.

Hmmm...that's all I can think of right now, but if you have more specific questions, just ask, and I will try to fire up the old brain cells and remember.

Having young children when you are old does keep you young, but it uses more brain cells up, so it's not much of a gain. :lmao:

I take it you'll be flying right? Have you considered sending a package to the resort with some diapers, wipes and whatever he may need? That could save you some packing room and it'll be one less bag to check in.

The ziplock bags sounds great although I've never used them. I never heard of using them until I found this board 3 years ago.

Dealing with a 1 yo is a handful esp when they start walking. Why is it that we can't wait for them to walk, then when they start walking, we just wanna make them sit down :confused3 I say get as much done as you can while he's napping. You'll seem to be more at ease and can think of things you may forget to pack. Good luck.

Kelli, I promised a good friend of mine that, if they offered Free DDP next year, I'd go w/her. I was looking at 9/13-9/20. What week are you planning?

Gail

Hi Gail

Well, my AP would expire on the 21st so I would think the same week as you   Hey... maybe we should make this a girls only trip and leave the Hubbies at home... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm:dance3:

Hi, Ladies and Gents! Hope everyone had a GREAT Labor Day weekend!!

Kellie - :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1: Glad to see you checked out alright and will be going to DISNEY still!!:cheer2: Also I need you to add me to the Glow Juice list. I will be bringing Vanilla Vodka and Cranberry juice. Will there be OJ there? I couldn't remember. ..... I discovered a new drink this weekend - Vanilla vodka, OJ, and Cranberry juice. DH says it tastes like an Orange Julius, I just thought it was Yummy! If noone is signed up for OJ then I'll bring that also :thumbsup2

Linda - Have fun at Disney and a Safe trip down!! See ya soon!!

Disneymom5 - :wizard:pixiedust: pixiedust: for your MIL!! Hope she gets better soon!!

I was out of town over the weekend. We had a really good time, but I'm glad it is over now so I can focus on Disney! :thumbsup2

I have not even considered starting to pack yet, but I will probably start gathering things into a pile soon.

The bounce back thing sounds interesting, but I doubt I would be able to convince DH to go back again next year. He wants to go somewhere different. I agree, but wish we could do BOTH :cloud9: So... maybe I'll read up on the dining plan changes. Where will I find a good run down on what is different in 08?

ONLY 18 days till we check in at POP!!!:cool1: :cheer2: party: :cheer2:

Hi Amber good to see you

I added you to the list and "yes" there will be O.J at the party:dance3: can't wait to taste your cocktail.. I'll bring my own straw :rotfl:

Ok, you'll never believe this...now MY mom is in the hospital!

It sounds like maybe her blood pressure medicine was working TOO good, and she got dizzy, etc.
So she should be ok to travel in a week. Yikes.

The good news is: My MIL is doing MUCH better. Yay!
Still no idea if she will be able to travel with us, but they have cancelled her dialysis she was to have tomorrow, and that is very good news. :)

I am beat.

Tomorrow starts our count down from 10! :cool1:

Already leaving Hubby at home this time (hey somebody's got to clean the house!!!). So maybe, if we decide we LIKE each other ;) , we can GLOW again next year!!!

16 1/2 more days!!!!

I'll be really busy the next two weeks so if I don't make it back much before all your trips I hope you all have save flights/car rides/etc! See you guys at the POP Party.

Can't wait to meet all you nice people. :teeth:

I was researching how/when to best upgrade my 10 ph wpf&m tickets to AP's to cover next year's bounceback trip (that I and many of you will be booking), and I came across this thread:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1473938

The $$ saving part is where you have to use your ticket before upgrading to the AP. If you upgrade a brand new ticket, they only give you a credit of what you paid for the ticket. But if you use the ticket to enter a park and then upgrade to an AP inside the park, you get full "face value" for the ticket.

Most of us booked our free DDP trips long ago, before the price increase on 8/5, and got the advance purchase discount to boot. I didn't calculate exactly what we paid for each ticket, since they were bought as a package, but I did do the math for my family's tickets as a group (3A/1C) and we'll save just over $100 off the upgrade price if we upgrade after using the ticket. It's not huge, but it will cover some of those not-included tips next year! Just thought I'd share.

It's almost time!!!!

9 days for me. Anyone wanna join in my single digit dance :dancer: :jumping1:

I had a very hard time getting on the boards this morning. The server was down for most of the day. I started to give up but tried it one more time when I got back from lunch. Now I gotta catch up on what I missed.

Sarah,

Sorry to hear about your mom. Luckily she'll be okay. Maybe her dose was too strong, so once they lower it and make it more stabilized, she'll be home getting ready for the trip. Sorry to hear your MIL will be starting dialysis. My grandmother started it around March of this year and they sucked so much fluid out of her, she lost about 80 pounds. She went from a size 20 womens to a size small petite :sad2: She's so small now and has a lot of loose skin. She also has a lot of other health problems going on, but I'm blessed that she's still here. She's 87 years old and still looks good. But on the positive note, here's sending :grouphug: your way for your MIL.

Thanks for the thoughts. It's been a really rough day. MIL is a bit worse than yesterday, which was a really good day. And a surgical procedure they tried did not work. She is exhausted and an emotional wreck. So is FIL, but you know how well men show it. :sad2:

I think my mom is doing ok, haven't heard otherwise.

I've had a headache all day. Blah.

Trying to get last minute planning/packing stuff done.

The DIS boards have been hinky all day and I just now am getting in. However I did get several things done.

Why do guests come on my very busiest days and then refuse to leave? I guess I should stop feeding them or something.

DisneyMom5, I cannot believe all that you are having to go through and how much worry you must have about it all and what to do, what to do?? I hope it all works out somehow for everyone.

minnieandme , silly is only the half of it. I would like to have the fluid drawn off me too. I told my doctor that if she could find an 80 pound BENIGN tumor I would give her a big tip but she did not. :sad1:

thunderbird1, from what I read that would not help me with all my one day tickets. I have 4 from last year and will get 4 more this year. One trip I will have to skip the AP and just use up all those tickets. I have a couple of old park hopper passes with two days each too.

Foxfiregrrl, leaving day after tomorrow!! It looks like a lot of rain though. I do not care for that so much. Hope the weather cooperates with you . See ya!!

keliblue, you are like me, you just want to get as much use out of them as possible. :cheer2:

Laundry to do now. :laundy:

Later, Linda/SG

You gotta Deal !!! I am always looking for someone to go with  .. "if" we like each other;) .. I don't Snore or Fart in my sleep:rotfl: at least I don't think I do :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Thanks for the link, I am still a little foggy on this:idea: only 2 of the 4 of us will be upgrading to AP's.. will they still let us remove it from our KTTK cards ?? If they don't, I wouldn't be able to get my AP till the end of the trip:teacher: and purchasing DDE at the end of the trip makes no sense at all, I would wait till my Dec. trip. Does that make any sense:eek: :rolleyes1

I was totally having Diser withdrawls all day:scared1: .... How addicted am I :rotfl: . If I am buying an AP's and am DVC, you bet your booty I am going to get out to WDW as much as possible...even from California:laughing: DH thinks I'm nuts;) but he let's me go... keep that in mind ladies, I am always looking for a WDW buddy... going alone isn't as fun :grouphug:

There's a whole lot of love in this thread! :grouphug:

You guys make my day.

Well, the decision was made, and MIL and FIL are cancelling their trip. SIL and kids are still going, and Us, and hopefully my mom.

I have to call Grand Gatherings for FIL later tonight, but have been putting it off due to headache. He has way too much to do with trying to keep his business running and keeping up with all of MIL's doctors, etc. Whew.

At least it is an answer to prayer -- we were hoping we'd have a clear answer one way or another on whether they should cancel.

I am happy that we can still go, but feeling sad that Grandma can't.

Thanks again for all your prayers and support...you guys are great, and I can't wait to meet you all! :goodvibes

Sarah, whatever you do, DON"T CANCEL your ADR's... your better to show up with less people then to try and get new ones..;) :scared1:

DisneyMom5, I am relieved that everyone is in good enough shape that at least some of you can go. Bet they are all glad that you are not having to cancel though. That is the way folkls are when they love us. I echo Kelli's advice. I have been trying to change a few of my ADR's and everything is full up. I refuse to cancel anything unless I get a replacement first. The big thing is to get room for two more at R&C one night as some friends are coming over to meet us. I will try on site and even go over and talk them direct from time to time until they give me what I want just to get me to shut up. Works with my grandkids!

Keli, I guess your generation has it a little better since your hubby 'allows' you to go. I am not only of a different generation but married to a man who is a generation older even and I am constantly reminded that I do not work thus I have no money that is mine. 35 years, I think I deserve a paid vacation, alone!@:cheer2:

Not sure if I am going to get to do any special decorating and such. Running low on time and I have a chauferring job to do tomorrow and that pretty much takes up the day. Going to eat out tomorrow night so I can clean up the kitchen for the last time tonight. :yay:

Lime Green Mickey Heads for Everyone!:thumbsup2

In the back of my closet I found this clear plastic book cover material, and guess what? It's Lime Green! I put it through my Cricut cutter and it works great. So, what I will have is a ton of clear, self-adhesive lime green mickey heads. They look great on a window and peel off without leaving any sticky. You could even write on them with a marker. I will give them out at the pool if anyone would like some.

you are on!!! Not sure about the farting (with my luck, I do!!) and I'm pretty sure I snore at least a little, but if you're willing, I am. Next Sept 13-20th. The family will be so happy I'm not making one of them go!!!!:thumbsup2

Zippa-dee-do-dah! Zippa-dee-aye! WDW in sixteen more days!! Ok, I borrowed that from the video of those SOOO cute kids!!!
