My mom is only going because we talked her into going with us. This will be her first trip. She wouldn't have a CLUE how to plan.

We didn't travel much as kids, and when we did it usually involved seeing far away relatives. So I had seen Colorado and Maine, and bits of OH.

My ILs hate planning things (SIL didn't even plan her own wedding, MIL and I did that too!) So by default, being the WDW lover and obsessive compulsive planner, I inherited the job. Which I am so glad for, as I like being in the driver's seat for this type of thing.

I haven't even discussed many of our details with my Mom, because she has been generally un-interested. She doesn't even know where we are dining.
Not that it would matter. She is basically just along for the ride.
I only hope we don't wear her out big time going on such a long trip for her first trip.

I think there is a 12 step group for this kind of thing somewhere....

DisneyMom5 - This was our trip last year. I tried to let my Mom and Dad make some of the decisions on where to eat - they wanted me to do it all. They pictured Epcot being right in with Magic Kingdom, they didn't have a clue. Well, I planned it all and it went soooo smooth! When we got home I recieved a Thank You note in the mail from my parents thanking me for all the time and effort I put in to make sure our vacation was enjoyable.

Also my Birthday is 9/29. We'll be gone (I'll be hiding under my bed til the day is over) but you can all celebrate anyway!!!

Whoever is going to be there early should set up a table that is easily noticable and have a 'guest list'. That way we can see how many really do come. Who knows, maybe it will be the biggest ever!

Hi, everyone! I just came back to this thread after being MIA for a looong time. I have been incredibly busy and will be even busier for the next few weeks. I just wanted to check in and say that I will be there. My brother is coming up from Miami for the weekend so he may be joining me. Also, my birthday is the 22nd! Not only will I be at a POP party, but it will be my birthday party!

I'll try to keep up better, but it is hard!

Small world. My folks lived in East Peoria until they retired to South Carolina. My sister lived in Bloomington and worked in Peoria before moving to Dallas. I still have other family in the area.

Our first day @ WDW... heading straight for Epcot EMH. A nice dinner at San Angel Inn, watch Illuminations then off to bed. This is our daughter & Godson's first trip to Florida so after the 8 hour flight, I think they might want to sleep but then again, they are teenages so it could be a looooooooooong night

Hi Keli!! Hey we are doing a ADR at San Angels (first time), do you have any suggestions? We will be doing lunch.

Becky: Normally we are like you and want to see the castle first thing upon arriving, but because we are getting in so late in the afternoon, and have a ADR at Sci fi we are going to do MGM our first evening BUT MK is the next day FOR SURE!! Btw when you have time check out my PTR!!

I actually had a ADR for 50's prime time for taht day but it conflicted with what park we were going to be in so I had to change it and Lesley reccommended it. I only hope they have something for the boys to eat-Heath is sooooo picky-If theres no pizza, chicken nuggets, french fries, pork chops or cheesburger(thats only sometimes), Then he WILL NOT eat!

I can only hope our trip goes that smoothly!

To be fair, mom wasn't even on board for the trip when I made the ADRs. But she's not that interested after the fact, so I don't feel too bad.

I think all of the extended family that is coming along will be overwhelmed by the experience, which is why I am trying to plan everything out so that it goes smoothly and they can just ENJOY.

My dd's 3rd. birthday is next Wednesday, which will also be our 1 month countdown mark. Double to celebrate!!!

Becky, DH would LOVE AK!!!

If he is at the Glow Party he can talk with my DH about AK...my DH isn't too thrilled about going (he's kind of shy) but if he starts talking to guys about Alaska, fishing, hunting, etc. then he gets talkative real fast

Our first day is gonna be more laid back. Once we check in and go to our rooms, we'll walk around the resort for a little bit. Gotta take some pics after seeing the Pop resort board. Then we'll go to ESPN for dinner. If it's not too late, maybe either go for a swim or watch the fireworks. We'll get up bright and early Sat and head to MK.

Taking pictures at Pop is on my list of things to do as well. This is our first time staying at the resort so I'm really excited to see everything there. Have you ate at ESPN before? I'm sure my DH & I would love it since we are huge sports fans.

YES!!! You are always welcome to come visit me in Alaska. I actually really love having friends & family come visit me because I get to play tourist with them. There is so much to see & do. We are up here every June-August.

Love San Angel Inn!! I think that you guys are going to have such a fun trip with your daughter & Godson! Have they been to WDW before?

We always try to do Epcot first. No particular attraction, just Epcot so we can see the big ball as we drive up. It was the first WDW park I ever went to, on our honeymoon, so we try to always go there first.

Another Epcot...I love the first time I see the big ball too. That is really cool that this park has so many great memories for you.

Our first day after we check in to Pop on the 22nd, we'll be heading over to Magic Kingdom for mine and the girls first ever look at the Castle and then we'll take the monorail over to Chef Mickey's for dinner ressies at 5:00 pm so the kids can see Mickey on their first day and first time at WDW! I'm just as excited to meet the mouse as they are!!!

I always think that there is something so special about seeing the castle for the first time. Chef Mickey's is going to be a blast for you & the kids! Take lots of pictures!!

Finally made my final payment today! 45 days to go. Now its time to find stuff to get my "glow on"!!!

I also think this might be one of the biggest meets ever! It's going to be a blast getting to know everyone. I think the table is a good idea. If we can't get a table, at least try to get a guest list together because it would be a lot of fun to see who all makes it.

I just had an idea...

Since there are going to be so many of us at the "GLOW" Party, we should try to take a group photo. I think that would be so much fun My DH will have his tripod & we have a pretty good camera, so I can have him take a group photo at a certain time during the party...maybe before everyone has had too much "GLOW JUICE" to drink LOL What do you all think? That way we will have proof that we had the biggest DIS meet ever!!
