POP CENTURY ... LAST WEEK of SEPT. 07 MEET

Hi Everyone!
This is NOT a happy post
I had to cancel my trip. I have been to distraught to even go online till now. I just looked it up and my last time here was on 6/26.
I made the mistake of refering a job to my company to someone who I thought would be a great asset. I was going to use her referal money to pay for the trip. Turns out she gave her notice 2 weeks before her 90 mark so I did not get it and therefore could not pay for the trip. Luckily we had not yet purchased our airfare. I am VERY sad and me and DH tried every which way to see if we could make it happen to no avail.

I WILL be there next year if they offer free dining again....even if I have to re-mortgage my house to get there! I really hope you all have a great time. have a drink for me as well at the meet.

I have enjoyed chatting with you all and hope to catch up with some of you next year. I will pop on by here every now and then to say Hi and see how the plans are going.

Will miss you all there!

Tammie...I am soo sorry you had to cancel your trip. I wish there was something I could do. I remember when My husband broke his ankle ...we had to cancel our trip last May (our origianal date), I was soooo bummed for like 2 weeks...THEN my TA called and told us about free dining in Sept., so we rebooked and It all worked out in the end. Maybe theres gonna be another promo out soon thats better than free dining and you cant get that.
Well whatever happens, I am still so sad to hear that you wont be joing us....Pls keep in touch with us all.

I am so sorry to hear that! I was looking forward to meeting you and we are really going to miss you!! I wish there was something I could do too. I hope you can still pop in and say hi! Gosh, I feel so awful for you and i don't know what else to say....

I felt bad not coming on the boards sooner to tell you all but I couldn't even log into read my favorites...TRIP REPORTS. I just felt crappy. I am just glad that we never told my DSD about the trip (we were going to surprise her). I think that would have made it worse.

I am okay about it now and will definitely keep in touch and see how all the planning is going. You never now....Maybe come next September there will be free dining again and I can possibly meet some of you then! Either way I WILL BE THERE. I just won't rely on a referal bonus......just winning the lottery

I have to live vicariously through all of you so I expect lots of details when you all come back! And someone HAS to write a trip report....

Sorry Tammie - I know how those bonus' go. We were counting on dh's bonus to pay for our trip. BUT dd needed her tonsils out...so it paid for that. As of right now my trip is teetering...I'm trying to come up with the money! I've got ebay stuff selling, I cut back on LOADS of things...I sill have 2 1/2 weeks to come up with the rest of the money.....& then I know I can save the spending money between now & Sept. SO....I am giving it my best shot...my kids don't know yet either. So if I have to cancel I'll be the only one crying, which is good.

I can soooo relate to the money thing. I promised my DH that I would not touch his pay for this trip since we budget that pretty tight most weeks. So, I took a job cater-waitering at Weddings on Saturdays. I started in May and I figured that it might be a race to make enough in time but I'm going for it. Each pay period, I take what ever I made and send it to WDW. It's getting close now and i'm starting to sweat it out because I still owe $700!! My pay varies each week based on how "upscale" and expensive each wedding is. It's so funny because I find myself telling my DH things like "If everyone would have open bar, we could pay off this trip in no time" and "We're serving Chicken Oscar at tonight's wedding...cha-ching!" Anyway this coming weekend no one is getting married at our venue and I can't believe it. No pay check this week Next weekend though I have 2 weddings so hopefully I'll be able to pull it off. Wish me luck. Also, I haven't gotten this past weeks paycheck yet so when that comes it should help. So, I guess my point is that a lot of families find Disney to be a challenge to fund and we do whatever we can to try to get there and experience the magic for our kids and ourselves. It's really sad, though, when one comes to the realization that it's not in the cards this time. I feel for you, Tammie, and I can relate to your situation. Hang in there girl. We'll miss you at the GLOW Party.

You are so right! adding Tammie - I still think we should h ave some of those "flat Stanly" pictures of missing Peeps YOU will definately be there in spirit!!

I was supposed to substitute teach for summer school ($1,000 - all for our Sept trip!) but NO ONE called in!! What's up with that?! We also have $700 left to pay off by Aug 15th, and I'm sweating it big time!! I have 2 boys in college that will need money for books!! I'm going to make that payment... I hope, I hope...

It looks like there are several of us in a similar situation. I was all set to make my last payment ($465 due 8/8). Last week I had to kitty vet emergencies, the car broke down and I got my first speeding ticket in over 20 years.

I'm sweating bullets because my friend Shirley has already paid off her half and I don't want to let her down. I'm hoping to pick up a couple extra pet sitting jobs in the two weeks. Somehow, I'll get it figured out.

Pet Sitting? Could be lucrative. To board my 2 Great Danes for the 11 days we are at the world will be pricey . Their "hotel" will cost as much as ours. I am not kidding.

I love Great Danes. I have one client with a Dane that, I swear, looks me straight in the eye. But I swear, she is the sweetest, gentlest baby...and sooo easy to walk. My least favorite client has a Bulldog who always tries to eat my shoes (while they're on my feet!) and a deaf Border Collie (try getting him to come in).
