POP CENTURY ... LAST WEEK of SEPT. 07 MEET

Good Morning Everyone!

So...I have to go over to the "Left" Coast for work the week of May 14th. I am flying into San Francisco and staying in Mountain View.

I notice that there are a lot of "Left" Coasters here....anyone familiar with the San Francisco/Mountain View area and can recommend any restaurants? I am usually pretty frugal with restaurants except on birthdays and anniversarys when we venture into Boston to eat at one of the better places. But since I am not paying....

And also, I am one of the FEW New Englanders who does NOT like seafood Trust me when I say that it s blasphemy around here.

Thats why I like to meet everyone early in the trip because it is great when you run into people at the parks and you can catch up on what you have done and swap suggestions/recommendations

You don't need to worry any more, Your DH will be in perfect company. Only if he is Goofy 4 Disney. I hope he isn't to burned out after the 30+ hours on the tin can of fun.

I noticed you live in Portland OR.
I love that town. My grandparents lived in a small town north of there called Woodland, Washington and we visited there every year. They also lived near Packwood, Washington for 10 years. I love the water falls along US 80 the Scenery is so beautiful. I liked visiting the Vista House overlooking the Columbia river. You are so lucky to live in such a nice place.

That is what I was thinking too. My DH is not an early riser, so I figured I would go there by myself if he was going to whine about having to get up early.

Yep, I'm now an Oregonian...hehe. That is after growing up in Boise, Idaho going to college for a few years in Southern Oregon, living in Alaska for a few years where my husband. I think I need to find one place to live & stay there for awhile. I love Portland though, it is a great city. Only problem is after living in Alaska for the past few years I'm having a hard time dealing with traffic and all the people, but for the most part I am very happy here.

I have family that lives in Woodland. In fact, my parents were up there last weekend visiting. It is beautiful!

- On a side note, DH's mom and 5 younger sibs (9-14) are supposed to go 9/21 - 9/27

Anyway, We are planning to go to Epcot on the 22nd, probably won't leave real early, but will stop by after if the party is still hoppin! I'll but GITD items from oriental trading!

We are going to the Sept. 30 MNSSHP, I think it might be a bit less crowded.

Yay!! Another family to join us, and another family with young kids. Our kids our going to have just as much fun as us

We plan on decorating our door. I just need to get my butt to home depot to pick up some LGMH someday! I figure I still have a few months, but I'm seriously trying to make a list of all the things I need to do & buy before we go.

We will definitely have our window decorated. Last year was a BLAST because everywhere you looked there were decorated DIS windows! I bring a post-it note pad with me and stick on messages on peoples doors (also great at blocking the toilet sensor if your little one is scared...i have a great story about that one I will have to share sometime) and take pics of them too.
It was wicked cool to come home after the parks or wake up and find someone has left a message or present at our door. It just makes the trip more magical

That would have been FABULOUS but unfortunately I did NOT book the Fantasmic package
I was going to but in the end decided not to...and I have NO IDEA WHY . My ADR's are for 6pm so I am not even sure if I will make it in time to Fantasmic for 7pm. Keeping my fingers crossed that they might have a 2nd showing since it is Evening EMH.

But I will DEFINITELY keep an eye out for ya! If your coming to the meet I will know who to look for

Welcome MOMNDADNJOSH!

Glow night is a DIS meet at the Hippy Dippy Pool at the POP on 9/22. Time is tentively scheduled for around 10pm....or how ever long it takes some of us to watch Spectro/Wishes at MK and bus it back to the POP! We will be wearing or carrying anything that glows in the dark to help others find us! Lots of us has kids that we are going to toss in the pool while the adults have a frosty beverage
