I know I saw it somewhere on the boards, but cant seem to find it now.....we have reservations at POP for the week of christmas. I am not sure what building is best for location(pool side doesnt matter to us). I would like to be a bit closer to the main building and buses. Di I need a prefered room for this? or will a regular room work(or put us way out there?) I had thought about changing to AOA, but saw how far out the mermaid rooms were and cant seem to convince anyone due to the long walk involved with it!......thanks for any advice we can get....I do have a a request on the reservations for the adjoining room as we are a family of 6 and need 2 rooms(the suites are not what they are wanting)......

You can find the POP map on the official POP thread. It is possible in the resorts to still be somewhat close to the main amentities, but not booking preferred.

I want to make sure you realize that adjoining rooms are next to each other; connecting rooms have the actual door in between. Many people do confuse this. All the rooms are adjoining; only certain rooms are connecting. My apologies if you were aware of that.

When we stay at POP we like being in the 50's building. Not far from the main building and not too far from the bus stop.

We also stayed in the 50's building and it was a very short walk to the bus stops and the food court and pool areas. Awesome location for us!

We stayed in a 90's building in April and it was a little haul to the food court. The walkways are kind of twisty and winding. The quickest way to the food court or busses was to cut through the parking lot and that wasn't very magical, especially at night. We rarely used our mugs (we had free dining) due to this. It wasn't terrible but we had stayed in preferred rooms before and I convinced my wife that we could save a few bucks by going standard (and I was continually reminded of this:rotfl2:). In December we are getting a preferred non-pool view. The Hippy Dippy Pool is quite loud and busy. Last time we stayed preferred and our room was just on the other side of the building from the pool. If you took the stairs it was actually closer to the food court than when we stayed in a room facing the pool the year before.
