(So, re-reading this, I just noticed your shirt in the pic with Sam - the one you said you looked tired in - hmmm....looks familiar! )

Wonder if you'll see any of my family this weekend - my uncle and his crowd (10 of them) are there - started today through Saturday I think)! I'm glad you're getting to go back again!

First of all, I apologize for not finishing this thing before now. Things have been crazy busy at work. Here is the final update - finally! It will be more pictures than words since I don't have many notes from this day.


We got up the next morning and got ready for our final day. Since we drove up with my parents they were going to hang out today and visit some of the resorts to see the Christmas decorations. We agreed to meet up in the afternoon to head home. Sam and I wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom for a bit and we were scheduled to meet some people from the Be Our Guest Podcast that morning.

We took a boat to the Contemporary and then walked to Magic Kingdom. What a nice and relaxing walk! It was such a pretty morning from what I remember.

We saw this cute guy in the WL pool on the way out:

There was a BOGP (beourguestpodcast.com) meet scheduled for 8:45 that morning. We were all planning to meet outside of MK under the monorail tracks. As soon as we walked up we saw a group standing there and went up to introduce ourselves. Three of the four podcast hosts were there so it was great to meet them! There were maybe 10-15 other people there too. One of the guys passed out Mickey ears Santa hats to those of us that were there already! Sam and I were excited – we had seen those hats all week and were wanting them!

We all watched the opening show together and then were planning to ride Space Mountain together. But, when we got there it was not running. So, we decided to walk over to Haunted Mansion but on the way we stopped to ride Peter Pan. And guess what? Sam and I won dream fast passes! Mike (from BOGP) and his daughter were in the boat in front of us and they got some too. We were the last ones to get them so sadly not everyone in our group got them.

It figures that we would win these on a day when we had to leave by early afternoon! We won them one other time (at MGM) and it was also the day we were leaving. Sam and I were supposed to join a scavenger hunt after this meet but after winning the fast passes we decided to skip the game and try to get as many rides in as possible before leaving.

So, after Peter Pan, the group of us went to ride Haunted Mansion. Sam and I got to share a doom buggy with Jackie who was such a sweetheart!

After Haunted Mansion we took a group picture and then a lot of us parted ways. It was so great to meet the hosts and some listeners of the podcast.

Sam and I took the train over to Toontown where we toured Mickey and Minnie’s houses and then rode Goofy’s rollercoaster.

Next up was the teacups (no wait) and then the Indy race cars. We walked over to Space Mountain which was now open so we got to ride.

We took a spin on Buzz Lightyear and then rode Winnie the Pooh. I had ridden this for the first time on our girl’s trip the weekend before and Sam had never been on it. She enjoyed it.

We had lunch at Pinocchio’s Village Haus next. Sam had pizza and I had a salad with Figaro Fries. Yum! That was my first time eating those but I had heard so many good things. It is basically french fries with cheese sauce and bacon poured on top. No calories.

After lunch we went to Mickey’s Philharmagic. This is always a favorite of ours. Such a fun show!

Next up was Small World and another ride on Peter Pan. Then we rode Thunder Mountain and went on a Jungle Cruise. That was our final ride of the day as it was getting to be the time we had to leave.

We stopped at the bakery on the way out to use our final snack credits. Sam had a giant piece of chocolate cake and I had my first ice-cream cookie sandwich! It was huge! And awesome!

We stopped and got a few more pins on the way out and then took the boat back to WL to meet my parents. That was it for our little weekend trip! It was a great time and I’m so glad I got to experience Mousefest. Apparently they aren’t doing it this year.

When we got home, Sam got out all her goodies from Mousefest and put them all on (lots of pins and lanyards). She came out and told me she was pretending that she worked at Disney!

I saw that. It works out better as I think I am going to London/Paris/DLP in July and then I think I will be going to Ip-Dip II in October.

Hi Monica! Don't remind me how grown up Sam is getting! Less than three months and she'll be nine!!! That is 1/2 way to 18!!!
