POP 50's or 70's

We just booked two rooms for our Nov. 4 - 11 vacation. We requested a Preferred room location at Music but were told POP was available. We had a choice of 50's or 70's. Our children are young and are early to bed, early to rise. So we wanted a location a little farther away from Pool side. We selected the 50's local....... any thoughts, good or bad.... it is our first POP stay.

While you can make room REQUESTS, those are just that. Requests. You aren't necessairily guaranteed anything. But if you're paying for a preferred room it's usually in a few different sections (I think 50's and 60's closest to the pool/ main building, maybe some of the 70's section closest to the main building). And I've never heard of 50's LOCAL, so not sure what that is exactly. I thought all 50's preferred rooms were pool side. But this far in advance they won't be able to tell you what section you're in. They usually don't do room assignments until a week or 2 before you arrive. So I think someone gave you some mis-information.

If you don't want a pool side room I'd probablly just pay for the standard room and ask to be in a building close to the busses/main building. Or even just request the 50's or 70's section.

We've only stayed in the 50's section, non-pool side and really the walk is not much further than the 50's preferred pool side rooms. They're all sort of in the same section. Maybe a few minutes longer walk. But next time we go to Pop I think I'll request 70s section. It's closer to the water jets, play ground area and seems just as quiet as the 50's section-just no pool.

Also, last time we stayed on the ground level-would NEVER do that again with kids. It was much louder than staying on an upper level.

We stayed on the pool side of the Lady building in the 50's. I thought the 50's theme was so cute! It is really a pretty short walk to the main building and if you get on the end you can see the fireworks from MK and EPCOT from right outside your door. We climbed to the top of the steps/bowling pin on the back far side and had a great view. Have fun. We really loved Pop!

we stayed in the 50's section. It was very close to the pools, food court and to the airline check in service. We were in 1109 facing the pool. Our room was really clean and the bus service was excellent.

We stayed int he 70's last year with our 1,2 & 3 year old, and will request 70's again this year! I liked being close to the jets & the food court, but still away from the noise.

we stayed in the 70's section, July '07. 3 kids, and a mid-day rest everyday. Even being on the first floor, we never had any noise. It was easy walking to the pool and everything else. The only thing I thought was to far, was the parking lot. We had a car, so we did do back and forth to the parking lot a bit. I would request the 70's section again, we loved it.

Hi My 3 daughters and I just returned friday after a week in the Jukebox building at POP. I travelled with friends and at the time of booking requested connecting rooms.
When we checked in I was on the 2nd floor and she was on the 4th floor. So we asked for it to be changed and after many hours we received adjoining rooms. That was fine. We were in rooms 2437 and 38 and they could not have been quieter. It was a little longer walk but we didn't really mind.
We watched the Epcot fireworks one night from the balcony and could see almost all of them. Just the low ones were not visable. Our rooms were the ones following the length of the pool in the going back from the jukebox ( if you can understand that).
We really thought everything was fine, clean rooms, good mousekeeping, no lack of towels, and with 3 kids in each room we never heard through the walls. Beds were firm but not uncomfortable .
